Price Paid:  $30.00 from United Marketing Gro

Summary:
I experienced poor reception with the EAN3000 antenna eliminator/amplifier. The picture was even inferior to our broken "rabbit ears" antenna. This was true of all VHF and UHF channels. Emerson customer service explained that the product "is not for all television sets." Mine is a GoldStar CMT-2194. The feature actually touted is the product's wide frequency band (30MHz - 850MHz). The gain control set to High (20dB max.) yielded the better picture of the two settings for me, Low being 5dB max. There is no mention on any advertisement I've seen that the EAN3000 is not for all televisions. I would suggest checking with Emerson before buying it.

Strengths:
The unit is very small and simply plugs into an outlet. Connection is made with the coax cable provided, which needs no tools. You can supplement the signal from your existing antenna if you wish.

Weaknesses:
The unit is not for all televisions.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
