Summary:
Ok, after MANY and I do mean MANY experiments with different materials to uncouple my speakers to my new hardwoods, I found the solution. These little ceramic beauties brought detail out that I honestly didn't know my speakers were capable of. I have tried the spike and coin, sorbothane, felt, granite slab, and finally a home made method using small bags of lead shot. But all of these ended making bass a little on the slow side which also made detail disappear in the lower midrange, or it just rang loudly with the music. Because my other components are already isolated I put a set under each speaker sitting on top of a very small disc of super-felt and BAM, it was like new speakers. I have to admit the bass is now a little thin but I think it may be due to I am just used to hearing the floor ringing with the bass from my music. Voices were MUCH more articulate as well as stringed instruments being more defined and spatial I have not bought jumbos for my subwoofer yet but that is where I am going this afternoon.

First off, I never did believe much in cones and all that but after trying the DH cones, I became a believer! Also, thanks to Allen from Golden Sound for his professional advise which was right on!
I started with the Jumbo cones under my Mcintosh amp and after finding the best position, I was so very happy to hear how tuneful and controlled my amp became at all frequencies! Although being a solid state amp, it sounded smooth and sweet! Very nice indeed!
I later than decided to get the Large cones with the squares for my dac, transport, pre and power supply! Again, finding the right position was fun but once there, WOW, what a sound! As I added the cones and squares to each component, I could clearly hear how each component improved in sound and when the whole system is with the cones, you get a sense of ease, warmness and calmness but with all the details in the upper frequencies and lower regions too!
The squares do help the cones to work better and give you a more smoother and sweeter sound and they do help to tame or take whatever balance of brightness or grunge away!
Basically what you get with the DH cones and squares are a tighter bass with solidity in it's punch & slam couplered with better articulation and speed, midbass becomes clearer but more tuneful, the upper mids has less 'sssssss' sound to it while being more open and clearer and last the highs which are more extended but smooth and sweet! With the cones, don't be surprise if you notice playing your system louder than before cause it sounds clean and clear!
For the price paid vs performance, I have no regrets at all!

Summary:
Just look at the Golden Sound super cones, it is very well made, no competition can touch it. Ceramic cones do look better and do not ring like metal cones.

I tried several other products in the past 3 months and I believe these are by far the best cones for the money. They are most effective under my CD player(Audio Reserach CD2) and amp(BAT VK-60)

Here is the benefits that I got from Golden Sound cones:
*more definition of sound stage. You can hear the positions of each musician.
*more depth. You may want to sit further away from the speaker due to increased depth of sound stage or you may need to toe-in your speakers slightly.
*tigher and more solid bass
*more refined, sweet and warmer treble
*better pace and more musical music.

Please watch the placement of these cones, it is fun just to move the cones around to find the best positions for your components. If you use DH Squares with the cones, there is another level of improvement.

I couldn't agree with previous reviewers more. These cones brought an amazing improvement to the overall sonic character to both my and my friend;s system.

For better bass exetnsion, try the Large to Jumbo cones. The bigger they are, the better the bass extension. However, there is no sacrifice to the mids and highs. Also, try out different placement technique like putting the pointed end to either equipment stand or component under-surface. You will be surprised at the difference positioning can make as well.

Summary:
After I plugged the entry level tube amp Assemblage ST-40 into the PS Audio P300, I decided to tweaked a bit further, putting 3 DH Lab creamic cones under the amp. The combination is on top of a flat piece of wood which in turn stays on top of two bags of lead shot. The sound, already awsome due to the P300, now is at least a notch higher: everything seems more articulate, more transparent; sounds seem to emerge from a blacker background. Bass is tighter, deeper, more tuneful; midrange is better integrated with the rest of the music as a whole; highs are airy and more extended. As a result, I found myself listen to music at a lower volume yet hear more of the same recording. Diana Krall's All For You and Holly Cole's Don't Smoke in Bed CD's are just two examples that showed me how better my system can be with the DH Lab cones are in place. Soundstage can be scarily deep in several tracks. I think the P300's clean AC power makes every change in the system more significant.
