Summary:
I own a Power Foundation 2, which is similar to the PF3, except it has only a single ACFX for all 8 outlets vs. the PF3 which has a separate one for just the amp. My Plinius 8150i operates in Class-A mode for the first three watts and I was always getting annoying noise/hum through the speakers, which would vary by time of day (always quieter at night, noiser during the day ...which is indicative of line noise and not just the amp). I noticed immediately after plugging in the PF2 that I got less noise through the speakers. My Rotel is hooked into a "digital" outlet on the PF2. I can't say for sure whether the background is blacker. I haven't AXBed the devices, but I have no doubt my system is quieter with the PF2 installed. This device, though, isn't cheap!

Strengths:
less noise from speakers/amp

Weaknesses:
doesn't entirely eliminate line noise

Similar Products Used:
Paramax surge/noise

Summary:
I received my PF3 March 18th after a long back ordered wait. The sound is cleaner, with more detail and space between instruments and singers. It's as if a fog has lifted, allowing one to hear deeper into the soundstage and to realize suttle sounds that were masked in an electrical haze.I had to cut my normal volume level down by 1/3 due to the cleaner power. Many handpicked upgrades have happened in the last 6 months.I've strengthen weak links and use any and all effective tweaks.Since my shelves are full, the pf3 sits nicely behind my rack on two narrow mdf boards with 3 sets of isolation devices,on the bottom, middle and top.As every ones systems and power vary, audition at home first. One minor gripe is the 3 ft. power cord.Value and sound. 5 stars
