Price Paid:  $20.00 from X-mass gift (left pr

Summary:
This product truly is a good low-cost solution for playing whatever sound media you want over any FM receiver ... as long as you have a headphone-out and a 12V power source. The unit even has unexpectedly long range. Good enough that if you have someone following in another car, they can tune to the same frequency and listen to the same thing you are! I even had the unit playing in the car, and was able to tune in on a 3rd floor bedroom, diagonally across the house.

Strengths:
Easy solution for playing any type of media on your car (or any) radio. Strong signal offers lots of flexibility on unit placement. Includes a power adaptor to power your media player too.

Weaknesses:
As the unit goes through temperature changes, there is some frequency drift. For example, when you first start your car on a cold morning, you will have to fine tune the unit (easily done with the tuning wheel on the side of the unit.) Then, as the car interior warms up, you will have to readjust the tuning a couple of times until the temperature stabilizes. No adaptor for house current. Would be a great solution for playing my MP3 Collection on my home stereo.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $25.00

Summary:
Great for using a CD player or CD based MP3 player in the car. Tried the cassette tape adapters, did not like them, and now have a vehicle which does not even have a cassetter deck. The SF 100 is powered from the 12V DC cigarette lighter plug, and has the added benefit of powering your CD/MP3 player. Much better product than the SF120, which is battery powered.

Strengths:
Powers your devices, no batteries required.

Weaknesses:
None.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
