DESCRIPTION

The RX-V495 is a 5-channel receiver providing Dolby digital 5.1-channel decoding, and Yamaha's Tri-Field Cinema DSP, and Digital Sound Field Processing. Dolby Digital delivers discrete surround enjoyment on DVDs and laserdiscs, and Yamaha's proprietary surround processing technologies add depth and excitement to all kinds of audio and video programs. The RX-V495 can easily accept the decoded output from any 5.1 channel surround system, whether it's DTS, MPEG-2, the new DVD Audio, or a system not yet developed. Discrete power transistors rather than IC chips are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 60 watts to each of its five channels. Yamaha's YSS-908 chip provides Dolby Digital and Pro Logic with full channel separation and no front-to-back bleedthrough in addition to Music and Cinema DSP and Tri-Field Processing.
