Strength:

Tonal quality warm timbre and soldi sound.

The Prologic suround is excellent I lined it up next to DTS to compare and it is superb.

Weakness:

Does not have an A and B speaker switch.

This is a great amplifier from Yamaha, I ahve used this now for 6 years and see no reason to replace it. The sound is very rci balanced and warm. I have run it through 3 sets of speakers in its time. Wharfedale Diamond series floor standing, a pair of old but beautiful Jaegers and a pair of Boston Acousitc shelf speaker.. Always performed well.

Some others have complained about the power but pushed this amplifier is as loud as you need without causing ear bleeds and with no didtortion.

I am planning to upgrade my system from prologic to digital, and I am stuck at which receiver to buy. I have narrowed my choices down the the Denon AVR3200 and the Yamaha RX-V2092, however I just found out that Yamaha now offers the RX-V2095 which is almost identical to the 2092 with the addition of DTS, 1 more digital input, and some more modes to boot. Should I stick with the Denon or go with the Yamaha? Can anyone who owns or has heard the 2095 give me some information on it? If I decide to go with Yamaha, I have heard great things about the 2092 and if its bigger brother sounds just as good then I would be willing to cough up the extra cash to get it. I am also considering buying some new speakers and a new sub for my system as well, I am thinking of getting a pair of B&W DM601's and a B&W ASW2000 subwoofer. Eventually I plan to either have the 601's in front, cc6 center, and add a pair of 302's for surround, or I could add a pair of 602's in front a cc6 center, and put the 601's as surround. Does anyone have any thaughts or opinions on this? I would appreciate any information/opinions, thanks a bunch.

Strength:

Good value, clear sound for the $

Weakness:

Relatively few processing options.

Good value. Paired with a pair of dynamic speakers (Paradigm Minimonitors) its a great combo for the $. Could have more power, but it isn't weak by any means. Remote is poorly designed, hard to use, especially in the dark.

Strength:

superb tonal balance,good mid-read summary

Weakness:

no sub-woofer input!(not much regret anyway)

rxv-293 -I may say it's some kinda brilliant purchased.Partnering my yamaha with samsung vcd player, and custom-made front speakers(500w each) and Denon center-surround speakers and not forgeting a cheap Equalizer(RM300.00)hooked in between player and receiver. The sound was extremely great which was crispy, transparent, detail(especially with good recording cd's and vcd's),good sound staging, deep base and with clarity. This is not an exagerating and,or overstatement. It's Stereo(phantom mode) and Pro-Logic(normal mode)are so great considering 50wpc receiver!!!But gotta to use an equaliser in order to achieve all that...trust me.Equalizer may produce hell of a difference to any receiver.A cheap one will do.I,m enjoying my system to the fullest,at least for now. It's highly recommended low-end product. Can't wait to get my hands on it,i mean after office,he..he...Simply the best of its classss.
