Pioneer VSX-D498 5.1 Channels Receiver A/V Receivers

Pioneer VSX-D498 5.1 Channels Receiver A/V Receivers

DESCRIPTION

The VSX-D498 Dolby Digital receiver by Pioneer is a surround sound receiver that can easily serve as the centerpiece of a home theater system. The amplifier outputs 80 watts per channel across five channels to provide plenty of power for each speaker in your system. Four audio and four video inputs (with independent minidisc/tape and VCR inputs) leave plenty of room for adding on components, and three digital inputs give the receiver the ability to receive digital bit-stream signals from your DVD player. There is also one set of front audio-video inputs and separate subwoofer and center channel pre-outputs.

Strength:

Dependable,upgradeable with the 5.1 input,great sound(.09% hd),attractive face plate,logically laid out back panel.

Weakness:

May not be suited for larger listening rooms.None of the new hd formats(although does have 5.1 input if source has individual channel outputs).

Have enjoyed almost 10yrs listening to both stereo and 5.1 movies in a small-mid size listening room(12' x 16').

Customer Service

I never needed c.s. for this receiver, but bought new elite model and they were excellent.

Great for a small room receiver.I have run 5(4ohm) speakers and only blew a fuse doing so in 7years.It has 5.1 input so its basically future proof .I got it on sale for $200 but it would be a good deal today for $500.
