Strength:

If reliability is the game, TD-126 MKII is the name. I've had mine for seven years and its sound quality hasn't decreased a bit. That's how durable this machine is. I even left it at my crib so more people can enjoy it! car wash ballarat

Strength:

TD plate par excellence that has brought many benefits to its users. Suspended against platinum alloy cast, mounted on a plate of sheet steel thickness. Thanks to the plate against the external mechanical shock and audio feedback, said feedback were minimized to the maximum. Heavy plate balanced on a tray fitted to the same vein that was usually equipped with an axis of 1 cm in diameter, 0.7 times the TD 126 MK3. Rectified belt drive with electronically controlled engine whose characteristic was to be able to correct the Difference in the mass of the arm according to its position at the beginning or end of disk. Clearly, the speed remained constant, as evidence, it was enough to put a shelf above and the correction of the rotation speed of the restored together to get the right speed selected. Ability to mount any tonearm, for my part, the TP 16 Shaft with Carbon suited him very well, but for the refractory arm Thorens, EMS S3 was also a very good choice, especially for cells with high compliance. I think a reading table made as at present would cost quite a bundle of Euro. To consume without moderation. concrete patios birmingham al

Weakness:

A small correction about the structure of the arm, it is not carbon, but treats aluminum with a black surface.

Strength:

Durability, as evidenced by >40yrs service prior to first breakdown. Serviced once by Brooks Berdan, otherwise just played. Heavy, quiet except for what seemed to be (stock) tonearm low frequency resonance.

Weakness:

For the past year getting gradually increasing motor noise, now intolerable. It is now a high-pitched screeching sound that I think is in the motor shaft/bearings. Am contemplating motor replacement, but have no idea where to look. I'd appreciate any help as this machine is too good to abandon.

I bought my 126 MKII in 1976/78. It was new and took ages to get it set up. Was it worth it? Thirty something years later and still running, you bet it was worth it. The cost at the time was of course horrendous, however the 126 has been and still is the smooth operator it always was. bmac50 says he paid $240 in london for his, well he did very well, I paid over £300 and that was a special offer. (cheap at the time) The sharp bit was not included in the price, so, about £400 in all. For my vote, this Thorens is a peach of a machine. May it run for ever! les.
