Review 2 of 2 Summary: Model year is 1987. Not 1995 as your selector does not go back that far. Outrageously solid build (14KG) which would be hard to find on any mass market CD players today. Twin "Massive" overkill powers supplies. The internal construction of the whole unit is something to admire; Separate partitioned circuit boards for control, DAC, and power supply circuits. Coaxial digital output. If someone is reading this can you tell me if this is 4 or 8 times oversampling Hi Bit digital filter? Twin DAC(Burr Brown PCM56Ps are a bit dated.). I know the next model- CDX1110- has 8 times oversampling. Sounds good on its own. Quite smoothed off in the treble. Resolving power may be limited but at least it doesnt sound too bright as I am using Yamaha NS1000Ms which can sound forward. However it also makes a great transport for MSB link DAC. Strengths: Solid build, Heavy 14 KGS. Big and purposeful looking. Twin power suppliies. Supurb internal construction. Weaknesses: DACs may be a bit dated. Burr Brown 56Ps. However I use it as a transport so it does not matter.
