Beautiful quality picture with serial video cable and digital box.

Very loud buzz from the picture tube that can be distracting when listening at low volume.

I purchased this over the Sony because the picture looked great in the store compared to the rest of the same price range and size. I am happy with the quality of the picture, albiet it takes getting used to the saturation level. I am very unhappy with the buzzing sound that comes from the picture tube which is annoying when listening to the television on a low volume in the evening. It is so loud and distracting that I am considering another model.

This TV is a balla (that''s "good" to all of you out there not down to this hip lingo). My brother''s playing our Gamecube on it right now, connected with component video cables. It just looks awesome and has one of the best pictures I''ve ever seen (HDTV is pretty sweet, but no one broadcasts in it yet). It is definitely worth the price, because the clarity of the picture makes up for its smaller size when compared with larger TVs of the same price. Fo sheezy my neezy.

HEAVY HEAVY and even HEAVIER this thing is a cow for the 20" size. Also use a stero the 5 watt speakers are to small.

This is a awseome 20" flat scren TV, the picture qualit is outstanding. This is a perfect TV for a room or an apartment, and is great Da Bomb for DVD use. two words are the reason for this {color stream}, this input fricken rocks up the pic quality.

Toshiba 20AF41 TV, It¡¦s quite possible the cheapest 20¡¨ flat screen TV you can find on the market today with S-Video and component input. It's got a great screen, awesome for a DVD movie lover and PS, or PS2 fan. Good connections in the back, s-video, and Colorstream are good to have, although since the screen is only 20 inches, you can't really see and difference.

No cover panel in the front to cover the RCA and headphone inputs. It's really a heavy set for a 20" tv.

This is a great product overall for someone that's living in an appartment and is dreaming of having a great picture. A fabulous SDTV for the television, movie, and video game lover.

I don't want to sound overly critical of a $517.00 set (canadian dollars) but i have to make some points. I own 2 other TV, a 27 inch Panasonic GAOO and a 27 inch Proscan. I watch mostly movies through a Bell ExpressVu satelitte system.

1-Lots of "jaggies":
On some program material, watching small curved object (a distant person face) reminds me of watching a circle on a low resolution CGA/EGA computer monitor. Connection types (S-VHS/RCA/Co-axial) do not aggravate or reduce the problem. I realize that i watch this 20 inch TV from a closer distance than the other 27 inch but this problem is not noticeable on any of the other 2 sets from the same distance. I don't want to compare apples to oranges (27 inch vs 20 inch) when judging this set either. My set does not seem to be miscalibrated resulting from shipping or else; went to Future Shop to verified if the other sets on display had this "problem". They did.

2-Color Bleeding:
I don't know if this is the proper term but try watching a THIN vertical WHITE line and see what happens. It won't be white ! Or try watching a scene where there are white Christmas lights in the background. Is this a shadow mask problem, convergence problem ? Maybe earth's magnetic field related but i changed the TV orientation 90 degres at a time with basicaly the same outcome. I unfortunately don't have the service manual for this set but as soon as i get one i will try to tweak the settings to see if i can improve on it.

3-Hum from the speakers:
Most direct view TV set have this problem to varying degre. This set is no exception. But it's about time that some manufacturer find a way to minimize this leakage. When listening TV at a low sound level it get very annoying.

4-Problem displaying some type of screen fonts:
Looking at some type of screen fonts you can see all of this sets "problems". I just have to go into the Bell ExpressVu Program Guide and look at the text on screen. If the white text is large enough there is not any noticeable problem but when the text gets smaller you see a combination of rainbow colored jaggies. VERY noticeable on the music only channels where the only thing onscreen is white text on a black background. When i went to Future Shop i asked a friend to point out what was the problem between this set and an inexpensive Samsung set right beside it. He noticed the onscreen text immediately.


I don't have any axe to grind with Toshiba i just want people who are considering this TV set to spend some extra minutes watching for the "problems" i pointed out. Maybe i have a early revision of that set and maybe they have corrected those "problems" since i bought mine. I know i can't expect the same level of quality from a $500 dollar set than a $1100 dollar one. I know i'm watching a NTSC broadcast but some of those "problems" should not have gone unnoticed. Who knows, maybe they added a circuit to "improve" detail when watching this TV on a department store showroom floor but it kinda backfired on them. Or maybe it's just me...
