Price Paid: $0.00 Summary i had problems with the learning function. i have an insignia tv with no available code so i had to use the learning function to program the remote for my tv. after this i had no memory left in the remote to add special functions to any other device. at that point i cleared the memory and used the code for my samsung vcr and added the special functions. after this i again found i had no memory left to add special functions to other devices. i then visited the rca web site and used their directions to reset the remote but they did not work! i reset the remote using information found at www.remotecentral.com.Strength i have owned other universal remotes and found this one very easy to program. the manual was very clear and correct when describing exactly what the flashing programming lights do, except when in a device and you have to press a button that is not programmed in that device. at that point the appropriate light will not illuminate because it is not programmed in this device, but if you continue as per instructions your next move will verify that you are proceeding correctly.Weakness there is not enough memory. the manual says up 20 learnable functions per device and up to a total of 34 stored functions per device when used in conjunction with the appropriate device code, depending on the compexity of the learned codes. yes, you probably won't be able to store 20 times 8 special functions. i found i could only store about 20 functions in total for only 3 devices. i may be wrong, but that seems like a huge discrepancy.Would you like to Comment?
