Price Paid: $159.00 from C. Crane & Company Summary Practical, solid design of a type that has filled a real gap in the market for broadcast AM listeners.Strength Digital tuning, ergonomic shape and heft, battery life almost too long to believe, big LCD display with LED backlighting, rotary tuning knob, excellent AM reception.Weakness Mine hums a bit with AC cord, so I stick to batteries, which means the backlighting times out after a little while. Some of the knobs on the front are a little oddly placed. FM sound only OK, but that's why you should buy this. External antenna hookup not really useful.Would you like to Comment? Price Paid: $0.00 Summary I bought this Radio to use in a RV while traveling. I could not find where it was even as powerful as the RV Radio and was very disappointed in using it. After a year the digital numbers on the front started disappearing and now we cannot even read those. Totally useless for me.Strength Weakness Would you like to Comment? Price Paid: $160.00 from c crane Summary Yesterday(5/15/03)I recieved the CC radio from the C Crane co. I rec. it at work, where I have a very cheap, mostly broken, very old radio. There are a lot of electonics and flourescent lights, and AM reception there suck. I do get some of the major NY stations(5mi away). I plugged in the CC radio. It(AM reception) was no better on AM than the cheap, old, broken, dirty, ready for the garbage radio that I keep at work.Strength It has all the ports and bells(features) that one would want to use for attachments, extra speakers, blah blah blah.Weakness I bought it because it was advertised as the "World's best AM reception". It's selectivity and sensitivity was no better than my $60 GE Super Radio on AM."Fading" was only slightly better. It's way over priced, and over hyped.Would you like to Comment?
