Strength:

Detail, sound stage and quickness. Almost as quick as electrostatics. Floor standing with spikes (no expensive stands!)

Weakness:

Probably not enough rumbling bass for rockers. (But then who cares). Not cheap at full retail.

First listened to these at CES '99 and was blown away by vocal reproduction. They were set up in the Antique Sound/ Reference 3a room at the Alexis. If they could sound great there........then they work almost anywhere.

Pushed by a 7 wpc tube Antique Sound monoblocks, they were quick with attack, very smooth and detailed with vocal work and completely disappeared. Last time I experienced that trick was with the old Quads. They are fuller than Qauds. Not as bright as Martin Logans.

Very efficient so I run them with VTL TT-25 25wpc triode. Using custom tube preamp, Micromega transport, Assemblage DAC.

These are VERY revealing and unforgiving of equipment and recordings. (My girlfriend has stopped listening to poorly recorded country western albums through the system). That's a reason right there.

And I'm told they have black matter in them. (Whatever the hell that is). Buy these and I promise you'll have a speaker worthy of keeping for a decade.
