please check other reviews I rarely write any tech reviews but when I checked so many reviews about this item, I thought that I should give some light on it. It was year 2004, I decided to buy a mp3 player, my options were Apple iPOD, Creative Zen extra juke box, Dell mp3 player. After reading many of reviewes about all, I deceided to buy Creative one and till today still is running smoothly.

It is hard to use software, and the ipod is a poor product that only last a few mounths and quits working I puchased the 30 gig ipod on 12/04/2005 used it for three mounths and it started freezing up, and constently needed factory resetting to use it, and then it just quit working. I then sent it into apple for repair or replacement, and they sent me a replacement which I have had for two mounths now and it also quit working, and know that the ipod is over six mounths old apple wants $32.00 for shipping and handling to fix it. what a scam. |

Strength:
3GB model hold a lot of songs and has good categorizing options. It's also easy to reset this unit when it locks up. You can expect to use this feature often.
Weakness:
Inadequate battery life. The unit quits playing frequently and must be reset. I bought the Apple Ipod because I wanted to get the best. I no longer believe the Sony Ipod is the best. My unit locks up almost everytime I use it for more than an hour. It's not difficult to reset the ipod but it is 100 percent annoying. I paid top dollar for this unit while many friends of mine paid much less for other brands that have good sound and no lock ups. If I could do it over again I would buy something different and save the money. Customer Service Customer service was freindly but the standard answer seems to be "send it back to the factory for repairs". Then you must reload everything. Similar Products Used: None |

The Ipod is very cool because Apple uses rock groups and cool comercials to make people think they can not live with out it.
Weakness:
The warranty is worthless.... Apple will tell you that you have abused your Ipod. After this you have no warranty or your Apple Care that you even spent more money on.
Ipod 30gig video, can be used for music, pictures, movies or a hard drive.
Customer Service Apple has said that the minute the video screen goes it is your fault. That they have no problems with the video screen. If the screen goes, you have no warrany. Even if something else goes on the iPod - including the battery or anything your warranty is nul and void. It's strange that they acknowledge the screen problem on the Nano, but not this one.

Price is ridiculous, lasts at most a few months, too delicate. I bought the 60 GB iPod in April of 2005. It was a very good product until 2 months later when it wouldn't play anything and froze up on me all of the time. I sent it back for a new one. I played with this iPod for another month or so until it too had a software malfunction. I've sent it in three times and each time the iPod breaks or just works completely horribly within a few months. This last time,after two days, the screen was busted and all I did was carry it outside with me. I sent it back (they charged me 35 dollars for shipping) to see if they would cover it and they claimed it was my fault. This iPod that apple puts out is not a good product to buy; I won't ever buy from them again. |

I've owned my ipod 20gig for about a year and a half. Suddenly, it just died. It won't go on, nothing. I can't get it repaired for under $135, making it pretty much pointless to do anything but buy another one. I hate how Apple, in the name if individualism, has done the ultimate corporate monopolozing. What urban person can really live without an ipod? I spend hours on the subway, on my bicycle, commuting, walking down the sidewalk. Basically this is a toy for people wealthy enough to just throw away their money every year. As an artist and graduate student, I am pretty mad to say the least. |

didnt even work, and too expensive. i bought this ipod and got it in the mail today and the piece of trash doesnt even work. it turns out i have to send it back to get my money back. I should have known I would have problems because it is very common with ipods. I incourage you not to buy one unless you like putting $400 down the drain. |

everthing else do not get this product i had my ipod for 1 day and fell on it with this rubber case that was expensive and it made a dent in the back which broke the screen inside i went the next day to the apple store and they said it was my fault that the screen broke and the dent in the backso dont buy a nano unless you have a lot of moola to keep on repaiing the nano get a shuffle Customer Service

Great readable screen (much better than the many other MP3 players you may find), backlight, organized, great for many ages, easy to use.
Weakness:
Battery life or other problems due to poor care of product. After reading a few reviews, I thought I should speak my mind. The reviews people put have just about every flaw you could think of. But then again, the flaws you find in an iPod, you also find in many other MP3 players. I've had an iPod Mini since Oct. 13th 2005 and although it has done a few things I don't like, I don't blame it on the software or Apple. The reason many people have so many problems with their iPod is the poor care they take of it. You cannot blame the company but only you for the reasons it may act up. The only times my iPod has had problems was when I left it in the freezing car over night. Other than that, it has been great! Before my father went to Iraq I would go fishing with him, 6AM to 6PM. Twelve hours of listening to his iPod before he bought me my own. The battery life suited me great. Other than the poor care I took of my own iPod, nothing has happened. I do recommend the iPod for anyone who loves music at the push of a button! Similar Products Used: Other MP3 players with dissapointments of their own. |

THE PRODUCT AND THE EXTENDED SERVICE WARRANTY FROM BEST BUY. I have had my Apple ipod since Christmas...it was difficult to initially set up and to use. I have had flaky things happen to it from the get go. Now my LCD screen broke....even though it's been in a case both Best Buy and Apple insist that it's my fault because I "dropped" it. My service warranty through Best Buy doesn't cover "abuse" and in essence, it's my good money thrown out the window. To get it fixed, it will cost me $306 and Best Buy, for all my fustrations, will sell me one for a "good deal" at $50 off the regular price. I can't say it enough, BEST BUY IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY THAT DOESN'T STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS OR SERVICES AND APPLE MAKES A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT FROM THE START BECAUSE IT KNOWS THAT THE CUSTOMER WILL LIKE THE PRODUCT, GET ADDICTED TO IT, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BUY IT. Not me, from now on, I plan on devouting my "music time" to informing the people of these two horrible companies. BE AWARE PEOPLE....APPLE AND BEST BUY WANT YOUR MONEY AT WHATEVER COST IT IS TO YOU. DON'T BUY AN IPOD OR ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY! I was lied to by the representative of BEST BUY when I purchased my service plan...I was told it was a replacement plan, but it wasn't.... Customer Service HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! |
