Had this receiver for 2 months now and after its burn in period I am very happy with the sound quality in both 2 channel and surround sound. I am at heart a 2 channel fan having owned various gear from Magnepan and B&W so the change to multichannel was an intrepid one, however this receiver combined with Mission Elegante E80 5.1 has been a good pairing.
This receiver has plenty of backup power for big action scenes and ebbs and flows appropriately to provide a very enjoyable listening experience whether it be stereo or multichannel audio. There is never any sense of strain and the sound does not call attention to itself, which allows you to just enjoy the presentation.
This receiver is very easy to live with and recommend.
