Strength:

Excellent sound quality from a little box! I have ours hooked up to audiophile Rogers LS3/5 speakers, and they sound as good as they do with a more 'sophisticated' amplifier. Decent radio reception, with reliable CD and tape players. Can't fault it-we have a version of this system in 4 rooms in the house and they have all proved 100% reliable even after more than a decade of use. Apparently the power supplies can prove faulty over time, but they can be had second-hand for so little , why spend on expensive repairs?

Weakness:

None at all, especially for this money.

My cmt-cp11 has been going strong for over 13 years now. The sound quality is surprisingly good for such a small system. The only reliability problem I've had is that the tape deck has a short and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't-not that I really use cassettes thtat much anymore anyways. Unfortunately SONY discontinued production of this unit and they are no longer available. I've been snooping around lately-considering replacing the unit figuring that something this old may not last too much longer and units of comparable quality run over $550 in 2009 dollars.

Strength:

Good looks, nice quality of sound, allows to connect your video for sound improvement

Weakness:

Reliability of transformer, Cost of repairs

Excellent sound, unfortunately it broke down after two years. According to the technician with no aparent reason the transformer "opened" and fixing it costs £110.
