The technology also provides a platform for interactive digital services that will deliver listeners information such as song titles, artist names, traffic updates, weather forecasts, sports scores, and more. HD Radio’s multicasting feature is an exciting addition that enables stations to divide their signals into multiple program streams (e.g., 97.3-1, 97.3-2, etc.). Unlike the current radio satellite services, HD Radio is subscription-free, assuring that AM and FM radio will continue to remain one of the best sources for local music, news, weather, and traffic information. Radio has finally come of age! But, that’s not all. Rotel’s RT1084 also includes a plug-in for up to three Sirius™ decoders. This CD quality, satellite based radio service has over 100 channels of advertising free music, sports, comedy and talk radio for a small subscription fee. RT1084 also sports the standard AM / FM bands for continuing analog service of your favorite stations. It also includes RDS (Radio Data System) for viewing your favorite stations call letters and music material that they are broadcasting.
