from Radio Shack Summary: Optimus (Radio Shack cat. # 12-1769) This is a great speaker at a great price. They are always on sale for $50 at Radio Shack, but they are still a decent deal at $100. Radio Shack contracts out a lot of their products to be made by other companies; does anyone know who made these speakers? These are 3-way 6x9 speakers (A 2 3/4" midrange and 1" polymide tweeter) with rubber surrounds and 360W peak/120W RMS power handling. This is the highest power handling I can find for any 6x9. I drive these speakers with an Infinity Kappa 255a amp, which is absolutely awesome for the money (on sale now at Crutchfield for $400, cheaper on Ebay) that puts out 50Wx4 and 200x1 RMS into a 4 Ohm load. These speakers perform beautifully at all volumes and put out decent bass, nice mids, and fair highs. I first purchased some Kenwood 6909 6x9s for my car, had them for a week, heard these in a friend's car, and bought a set the next day. They are comparable to the Kenwoods, but much cheaper on sale and sound 95 percent as good (the Kenwood has a silk tweeter (i think) for better highs). I am not sure about the sensitivity rating, but I believe that it is 91 or 92 dB, which is pretty good for a 6x9. My recommendation to you is to buy a few sets of 6x9s, place them in the speaker slots, connect them, and listen. Speakers sound different to different people, but these speakers to me are an excellent value and sound very good overall. Strengths: Great price, high power handling, Sound decent Similar Products Used: Kenwood 6909
