I am not going to try to put you to sleep with this review. My history of CD/Transport includes the Marantz CD 63, the CAL Icon, The Theta Jade and the Emotiva 3, Sony DVP-S7000. All pretty nice in there own way. I found the NAD to be a very nice little player for the money. I got mine for $135.00 at Ebay ! I found the highs to be just right, not bright, not laid back. The vocals are great and the bass is also very good. The remote is a little small, but very easy to work with. All in All a very nice product for the money, even at full price!

I got this unit to replace a Sony CD player CDP 491 from the eighties that finally died after a couple of mayor repairs.
Well, I think I prefered the Sony.
I am not a fan of CDs sound, but I think the old sony sounded more relaxed, with better staging and a more pleasant presentation. Well, the diferences not big but noticeable.
Not to mention the display and remote also better with the sony.To my ears this Nad sound a bit agressive on high frecuencies.
The finish is just average.
On the good side of things this one can play mp3 files.
For the price I found this one a bit dissapointing.
