Strength:

Great picture and colors most of the time. Good sound.

Weakness:

Bluish tint on left side of screen. 90-day warranty is pretty short.

Usually sharp picture and great colors, but frequently part of the left side of the screen has a bluish tint and also a brownish tint on the right side of the screen. Mainly noticeable in black and white programs such as the History Channel and old movies, or light colored areas of color programs. I have digital cable, so it's not the antenna. Took it to a Panasonic authorized repair shop, but apparently it wasn't acting up then, so they said there was nothing wrong with it. I should have taken a color photo of the bluish screen and brought it with me.

Lots of inputs. Almost has a receiver built in. Easy to use. Great picture and sound.

Weakness:

none that I can think of

This is a very good TV and I would recommend it for anyone. I am a casual user and it works great. I have had no problems at all with it. It is very easy to use as well.

Strength:

Excellent picture quality and surround sound from tv speakers, high reliability.

Weakness:

The 3D line filter only works on composite and tv input, not on S-video or component.

I did considerable research on 27 inch tv's and found this one to be the best value by far. Consumer Reports magazine rated Panasonic the best in reliability in the 27 inch category. TV has composite, S-video and component inputs. I have a great surround sound system already, but was very impressed with the tv's surround mode. It's not a replacement for a surround system but sounds very good in the surround mode on certain programs. Remote is simple to use. Nothing in this price class offers so many features, great picture quality and reliability.

Strength:

Excellent picture, 3 video inputs (1 each of RCA, S-Video, and Component), Better than average sound, Channel labeling

Weakness:

High pitch squeal (see below)

I just got this TV a couple of days ago and it blows the competition away (at least in the under $400 price range). I looked at some JVC models (the 27150, which is highly rated as well), some Sony trinitrons, and other brands in the store. The sony's look washed out and have a dull picture. The JVC was definitey number two, but the Panasonic came out on top (barely) as the clear winner for picture quality and sound. Its nice to have actual black showing on teh set instead of hte dark grey that comes through on most TV's thanks to the Panablack tube. The convergence is also great, which is a real downfall for many sets out there.

At home, it became even more clear how great this set is. I have a Pioneer DVD333 player hooked up via component inputs and the picture is awesome (S-video looked the same, but I don't have an S-video cable). Watching movies in my HT setup is now a pleasure. Its nice that I can turn off the speakers on the TV to get sound through my receiver.

I only wish I could keep it :-( The TV emits a harsh high pitch whine that drills my head and produces an almost migrane level headache. My girlfriend and other friends can't hear it, so I guess its just me. It sounds like a camera flash bulb warming up, if you know what I mean. So if you are sensitive to these kind of electronic noises, TEST THE TV in the store and make sure you can return it. It took a day and a half for the noise to start in my set. I'm giong to have it serviced to see if I have a lemon, but I doubt it. Since this only seems to affect a certain few people, I can't really say it is a weakness of the TV; so no star penalty here. I guess I'll see how the JVC's sound.

Setup:
Panasonic CT-27D10 (duh)
Pioneer DV333 DVD player
Yamaha RX-V596 receiver
Cerwin Vega L-7 mains (OLD!!)
Paradigm ADP 170 surrounds
Paradigm CC70 center channel

Strength:

Variety of inputs, including component; Excellent picture

Weakness:

Limited number of channel labels

This TV is a great deal at a reasonable price. The picture is very crisp and clear, the colors are very well defined. I viewed this set for about 2 hours next to two Sony Trinitron's and I could not get the Sonys to look as good as this. The colors on the Sony sets appeared more grey or washed out, even with tweaking the picture significantly. The Panasonic produced a much more pleasing picture.

The component inputs look great with DVD's. The Panasonic has a full set of options to tweak to your tastes. My only gripe about this set is you can only label about 30 channels before the memory fills up. I've never had this feature before, so I can't really complain.

This is a great TV for those who are looking for a quality 27" set, but are not yet ready for larger and pricier HDTV or Digital TV.

Strength:

Picture Quality

Weakness:

Speaker quality

Purchased this product yesterday after reading reviews for a couple of days. Am very impressed with the picture quality.

I have noticed that on the horizontal axis there are two extra scan lines dots outside the normal picture area. It is located about 1/2 way down the screen and looks like
the following: || You can see the image scanning through these two lines on both side. Is this normal? Please e-mail me at playadave@mediaone.com if it is not.

Also noticed that the speakers really can't handle over half the volume range the system is capable of handling. No big deal because if I want it that loud I'll run through my stereo system.

Picture quality is good but I would expect just a little higher quality since I'm running digital cable.

Overall, I'm impressed with the overall design and quality of the product, except where noted. Could have paid twice as much for a Wega but I don't feel that is worth it.

Strength:

Excellent Sound and Picture

Weakness:

None.

It was either this tv or the Toshiba. The Panasonic won because of all the options. The bottom line is that for TVs in the $350 range there are none as fine. I highly recommend this TV.

Strength:

Great @ss picture quality.

Weakness:

None at all

Let me just start by saying this is a great t.v. The Sanyo was my old t.v. it just couldn't keep up with my new "style." The Sony and Toshiba's were both 2000 models as well but I didn't like them one bit. They both had geometrey problems. The Toshiba's picture was washed out even after about 2 hours of messing with the pic controls. This was trying all the different inputs. The Sony I deemed was too much for what you got. So I just took that back. I then decided to get the panasonic after hassles with the toshiba and then just not liking the sony when I got it home. The panasonic I feel has way better picture quality. I do feel the speakers are inadequete but I use my surround setup for this anyways.
