Strength:

Great picture (watching Shrek it looks hi-def!) Great sound (30+ volume setting watching The Matrix is incredible!)

Weakness:

Initial discoloration due to magnetism, easily fixed though (not sure if caused by items placed next to it in storage, etc.)

I purchased the JVC AV-32D303 recently and had the same problem with black discoloration in the upper right corner of the screen. It was really noticable when changed to the blue "input" screen. I actually fixed the problem on my own. The trick is to unplug the TV for several hours (I did it overnight) and then plug it back in. All TVs automatically degauss (demagnetize) when turned on. This process is more effective when unplugged for a while, as power is still provided to the TV when plugged in, even when turned off. Once I did this, the black discoloration was gone! This TV and sounds amazing. I would definitely recommend this model to anybody. I don't think paying an extra $100 for the AV-32D503 is necessary, as this model already rocks.

Same as everyone else

Weakness:

Remote Discoloration for no reason

When I read the newest reviews, I thought Safooma was just unlucky or imagining things, but incidently, on the AV303 model, he is absolutely right in the discoloration. I only have a small spot of it on the lower left, but it was there the minute I started using the tv. I probably won't bring it back since it's not very noticeable unless the color is light and for watching Dvd's, it won't matter since most are widescreen. The tv looks great, but I find that the remote is of rather poor quality, it looks like a 15$ remote you can buy at any electronic store. It does the job, but it looks bad and I dislike the placement of the buttons on it.

Strength:

Easy to setup. Multiple inputs (including component video and front input).

Weakness:

No option to display time when surfing the channels

I bought this TV after receiving a Christmas bonus in 2001. So far we've really enjoyed it. After 8 months with the TV, I still believe it was the best buy for the buck. The remote is easy to use. The only small issue I have is the display feature for channel and time. It's either always on or always off. The channel displays when surfing up and down but not the time. I guess I got used to with a Zenith I had. Overall it's a great tube.

it turned on?

Weakness:

distorted colors

I got this tv as an exchange for a defective Sony KV-32s42. The actual model I received was an av-32d303. When I got it home, I noticed discoloration, like that caused by an unsheilded magnet or speaker being to close to the screen, all over the screen. I tried moving the entertainment center around the room, and eventually even moved the tv to a different room, and to a friends house, but the problem persisted. I then took the set back to circuit city and showed the sales people the problem. I then went out to the sales floor and looked closely at the display model of the same tv and it exhibited the same problem. The easiest way to detect this for yourself is to switch to a channel that is unavailable, which will give you a blue screen. The discoloration is very apparent agaist the blue background.

Strength:

Sharp, clean picture, great sound, awesome exterior, price that beats all top brands, and some nice extras that are found in more expensive sets.

Weakness:

PIP (Picture In Picture) would be nice but not a need.

Awesome picture! I took my time and reasearched every source possible before making my tv purchase. My work definently paid off. I love the size and look of this set, not to mention the clean crisp picture. I, like many others, have compared brands such as Sony, Toshiba, etc... Circuit City matched a Sears sale price plus gave me 10 more bucks off...what a deal! Beware...this is one heavy set. I am very pleased with this purchase!

Strength:

700 lines of resolution, BBE high Definition Audio, 3 line Digital comb filter and component video. WOW....what more could you ask for.

Weakness:

TV is obviously heavy to move even with 2 people....but what 32" isn't?

This JVC AV-32D303, 32" 2002 model TV is not only one gorgeous looking TV but the picture quality and sound is unbelievable. It's the best 32" analog TV out there for 2002. Last years model was AV-32D302, but same TV.

Great TV. Best priced on the market at the time. I am a Sony fan and have always used Sony products, with the exception to the odd JVC piece. First time purchasing a JVC TV and I have no regrets. I highly recommend this unit. Great picture and sound. Most are amazed at the sound quality, when watching DVD with Sony 5.1 Digital Surround Sound.
