Strength:

Picture, Sound, Size and ESPECIALLY PRICE!

Weakness:

Remote for changing video input makes you go through them all to get to the one you want.My Sony had Vid 1 Vid 2 Vid 3 TV on the remote

Great TV for the price, replaced a Sony XBR65.Although I liked my Sony their warrantee sucks.JVC has a 2&2 on this model,Sony is 90days 1 years.Bought through Amazon and had shipping problem. They removed the $79 shipping charge so it only cost $369 delivered.Am very happy with picture and sound, also video inputs as I run 5 VCR's.Only needed 1 A-B switch.Remote is OK but I miss the Sony's ability to change Video inputs by # instead of going through the menu of each input.

This product is great and I have no regrets at all after 2 months. I have had no problem at all, the picture quality is great and even if the sound could be more powerful, I always listen to movies on my own audio system.

Strength:

Great picture IF you calibrate with a test DVD. Easy to set up and adjust. Quasi-universal remote also operates my VCR and DVD.

Weakness:

Sound not as rich and deep as the much more expensive Proton. Unit has nice lines, but I''m not crazy about the silver finish.

Terrific picture quality and adjustability rivaling more expensive models. This unit replaced a $1200 Proton unit that looked great but broke twice in six years. Picture quality is only average "out of the box," but after 30 minutes of calibration with the Avia test DVD, cable looks as good as your feed will allow (some channels great; others awful), and component video is outstanding, with terrific black levels and very little dot-crawl. On DVDs with high quality photography (films directed by Stanley Kubrick, John Boorman, Alan J. Pakula for example), the image with component video inputs is almost like glass. It''s virtually impossible to judge televisions in any but the best video stores, so I read reviews and took a chance. Service from Crutchfield was outstanding, as usual. You should consider the AVIA Guide to Home Theater calibration DVD as an essential part of your new television purchase.

Strength:

Good picture, many input/output

Weakness:

Only 5 watts/channel

his TV is excellent because it comes with a lot of features at a decent and affordable price. JVC is known for making top quality products, and this TV is proof of it.When I purchased this TV, setup was simple and easy. The menu is easy to operate, and will have your own personal preference in no time. The TV comes with 1 Component input, 2 S-Video, and 3 A/V inputs. You also get variable/fixed audio outputs. I have my TV hooked up to a stereo, why, because the TV audio isn''t up there like other TVs of the same size and features. Only 5W per speaker. Visual quality is purely excellent, depending on what your looking it.

color, sharpness, nothing compare to other real flat screen. :(

yes its true ErikCK ,I was really hyped to find a flat screen that provided reasonably quality for a decent price. Sony caught my eye first, but I read the horror stories about the pink lines and curved corner. I found JVC’s AV-27F702. I wish I never had. I first tried getting this through sears. That was a mistake. Not even worth writing about. Don''''t bother looking for this in any store period. It was like finding a needle in a haystack. I made up my mind I would have to order it from Crutchfield and wait. They actually processed it and sent it to me fast and their service is out of this world. Well I ordered this TV thinking it would be the sh*t and it turns out it''''s sh*t. Running off component video I noticed flickering all over the screen and the dot crawl is crazy. One look at white lettering on a black background and you will see what I mean. And running a satellite off composite during a black screen there is a vertical white shade on the left side of the screen. That was most noticed during changing channels. The remote lights up the four biggest buttons, which are the channel buttons and volume in the middle of the remote. Tell me what that helps. Like anyone couldn''''t find those in the dark. The number buttons are so small it''''s silly. Not what I was looking for at over half a thousand smackers. Can''''t wait to get it out of my house. It''''s making me sick.

Strength:

Nice look really flat and distorsion for the image enough connections

Weakness:

the image can even be better with progressive scan or high definition technology

I wanted first to by the Samsung 27 inches flat screen but the Best Buy store run out of that TV. I had to wait at least 2 weeks before they had again in stock so I preferre to find a similar product. That is how I have chosen the JVC flat screen. Even if it is not beautiful as the Samsung and even if the image is not as good as the other(which has the progressive scan feature. It is a technology to create additional lines from the standard definition)I''m quite happy with this TV. When I watch the news or a program I don''t really care of, I just use the build-in speakers but when I watch a film, I prefer to swich on my Dolby Digital Surround Sound Receiver so I don''t care much about the quality of the sound. There is enough connection even when you want to connect at the same time the receiver, the cable box and a direct connection to the cable. For me the image is better than the one you can find on a Sony Vega flat screen

Strength:

Flat screen; clear sharp picture; deep blacks; great color; component and s-video inputs; front s-video input.

Weakness:

Price and it's very heavy for a 27"

This is my first flat screen TV. So far, I have absolutely no regrets in buying this TV. The image is crisp and clear. DVDs look absolutely fantastic (I am using component video cables). Even normal cable, which usually comes in grainy and bland, looks much better and sharper than my previous 6 year old RCA TV. I am also using this TV for video games and with S-Video or even normal composite, it all looks pretty amazing. There's 3 video viewing choices. There's Theater (very dark but removes most of the grain), Standard (which is pretty good for most anything) and Choice (which saves your prefered settings). I set up my setting using a DVD with THX Optimizing. Alot of DVD movies now have this feature and I suggest you use it to get the most out of your TV. I can't find a visual fault.

The audio is better than what i read in other reviews. Sure it doesn't sound THAT good but it's more than adequate. Of course it doesn't compare when you can listen through a receiver.

The only negative thing I can mention is the price, which is a little bit expensive for a 27 inch TV. Being a standard flat screen TV though, it doesn't get much prettier than this and is worth every penny. When this TV is finished, hopefully HDTV will be a standard and therefore, affordable.

Strength:

GREAT picture, good connections, above average sound, lots of bells and whistles

Weakness:

cost, weight

In looking for a new tv, i must say i did extensive research. for 2 weeks straight i compared(via the web and showrooms) the following models:
-Philips
-panasonic ct27sf37
-sony kv-27fs13
-toshiba 27af41
-jvc 27f702
all of which are flat screen tv's. If found them all to be roughly the same price range and to have similar features.I went with the JVC 27F702 and have not been let down in any way! this tv gives up SOME features to other nodels. for instance, the sony AND panasonic have slightly more watts per audio channel thus giving it a bit of a crsiper sound to it. Another feature the JVC model does not have a color temp. control (cool, med, warm).i also found the panasonic and antoher model had the headphone import where as the JVC did not. C'mon, REALLY, when is the last time you watched tv wearing headphones? On the plus side, (and there's alot of pluses) the picture quality is OUTSTANDING! at 750 lines of horizontal res. this picture is second only to large size HDTv tube tv's.
I found the projection hdtv's to have some grainy textures to the pictures and was not impressed. This tv (JVC) also has NO distortion in the corners what-so-ever. it also has all the bells and whistles any true tv enthusiast would look for
-component input
-s-video input
-bbs sound
-velocity scangeojoergmoblah blah blah blah blah
EVERYTHING you want is on this TV!

All in All, this TV is awesome for the price.I would recomend it to anybody looking in the 24-27" range for a new tv.Best bang for the buck, and in many catergories (picture quality, 750 res. 10 watt)outperformed 75% of the competition.
