DESCRIPTION

The SuperSlim monitor is a bold twist on image display. With horizontal or vertical orientation, the unit can accommodate any display or presentation challenge. And, most importantly, the SuperSlim monitor provides a spectacular, high-resolution picture in a slim, lightweight package design. Sony's PFM42B1 features a high resolution 1024 x 1024 pixel display that offers clear images and superb detail, with a 160 (degree) viewing angle. Users can change aspect ratios from standard 4:3 to widescreen 16:9 format to accommodate DVD presentations and widescreen broadcasts. The monitor is equipped with an advanced scan converter that can intelligently reproduce a wide range of digital video signals (including SDTV, and HDTV) and UXGA computer signals. The new unit is merely 3-1/4"" thick and weighing 65.5 pounds. The SuperSlim monitor is well suited for environments with high traffic, space limitations or aesthetic considerations since it can be mounted to the wall or ceiling with optional flat, tilt or rotating brackets that allow for easy conversion between horizontal and vertical orientations. Additional product benefits include a full-function remote, color temperature/dot phase adjustment to fine tune the image, and 20 video memory settings to store data for a wide range of video sources for quick recall to speed monitor set-up.

Strength:

It''''''''s a gas plasma display! Picture quality, size.

Weakness:

Screen gets hot, fan is a noisy and intrusive during quiet scenes. No inbuilt TV tuner. Still trying to locate a component video - VGA cable here in HK to get the best quality DVD picture.

Picked up the display as a wedding gift. Great quality picture, and it looks great on my TV cabinet.

None. But I have a 15" Samsung TFT display with built in TV tuner for the bedroom. Incomparable in terms of quality of picture

GREAT PICTURE, GREAT DESIGN, FITS ANYWHERE

This set is the best bang for my buck I have spent on my Home Theatre. The pictiure quality when coupled with a good source such as Progressive Scan DVD or Digital Sattelite is unsurpassed. I was waiting for the PLasma sets to srop in price and I'm glad for 5600.00 dollars it's worth every penny and it frees up room for bigger and better speakers. I even got the the in home extended warranty on it for an additional 4 yrs I plan on keeping this on for awhile. I got white glove service from J&R unboxed and everything. If you want a good deal you should try Todd at 800 221 8180 EXT 1039. I was reffered to him from another review and he was great and knowledgable.

If your looking for state of the art and maximum viewing with little compromise in space. Buy it!
