Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $1299.00 from Costco

Summary:
We have had the display for three days and are less than enthused about the picture quality. In all fairness, we have only used the display to watch DVD's but I was under the impression the picture would be better than that of a CRT. The details in some scenes look almost "animated" and pixilated. The blacks totally lack any detail, and adjusting contrast, sharpness and brightness do not seem to help. The display is a "Wide screen" but I still end up with the black bars on a wide screen DVD. I am going to hook the display up to a computer today as a monitor to see if it is adequate in that roll. If not, I will be returning it at the end of the week.

Strengths:
Plenty of connectivity, built in stereo amp with sub output.

Weaknesses:
Picture quality with DVD's

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
