I PURCHASED THIS 61'' PROJECTION TV MODEL P61926 BACK ON 2000 AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH IT. IT HAS BEEN A GREAT TV CLEAR SHARP PICTURE AND GREAT SOUND. BUT YESTERDAY THE PICTURE STARTED BOWING AND HAVING A GHOST-LIKE SHADOW ON THE PICTURE...WE HAVE RESEARCH THE CAUSE AND IT'S A $3.00 PART...BUT WE CANNOT FIND THE CONVERGENCE FUSE OR ANY SCHEMATICS ON THIS TV TO REPAIR IT....BUT WE AREN'T GIVING UP ON IT JUST YET....

Strength:

Great TV for the buck so far. Excellent picture no matter how much light is in the room or whatever angle your viewing it from.

Weakness:

Would like a screen protector built in. Remote was ok just not back lit.

After my 46" Magnavox bit the dust after "only" about 3 years I found this one at Conns. Talk about bang for the buck!!! Compared to the others in the store this one stuck out the most. It isn''t an HDTV but the quality of the picture even from the side just blew away my old Magnavox.

Weakness:

Should have a built in sheild for the Fresnell Lens.

What can I say here?

I always wanted a BIG, No make that HUGE screen TV. I looked
at many over the years and they all had dismal performance
with horrible hot spotting, poor coloration and very narrow
viewable angles. Then in late 2000 I made the decision that
I could no longer 'live' with a small TV. I went out on a
journey that took me to all the obligatory spots. I am sure
you know them all too well. WallMart,Best Buy, Circuit City,
Sears,Montgomery Wards and others.

I auditioned every known
brand on the market, brands like Sony,Phillips,Pioneer,GE,
RCA,Hitatchi,Toshiba and some other lesser knowns. One of
the things that most preplexed me about the RCA was that
unlike it's other big brethren this TV had no hot spotting
when you moved through the field of view from side to side.

Infact this TV looks as good at a 45 degree or more angle as
it does from dead smack on! And that's not something that
can be said about the others I demo'd. Other features that
caught my eye was the Gold TV Guide+ which allows you
to watch a channel in a PiP window while you surf the channel
listing (which is FREE) and you can add shows to the schedule
function and then record them daily,weekly,bi-weekly etc.
and best of all the TV Turns the VCR on and starts recording
automaticaly! you don't even have to touch anything
on the VCR!

The picture for an NTSC 4:3 set is one of the best I have
seen and a very in depth menu system allows you, the user to
do Red,Blue,Green Convergencing in house as well as select
an actual 6500 Kelvin Color Temperature. And you don't have
to run this set on 'Torch Mode' to get a great picture! I
have my contrast set below 50% and my sharpness set to about
20% and the picture is as clear as any HDTV I have seen!
The internal Scan Velocity Modulation coupled with a 3 Line
YDC Digital Comb Filter and 900 Lines of Horizontal Resolution
make this one spectacular NON HDTV Display that with the
addition of an HDTV STB (Set Top Box) will please you for
years,if not decades to come!
