Bottom Line:
My friends and I are "tired" from a digital sound. I used RX-505 for one year, and recently have got ZX-7. First of all has amazed its condition! A deck of 20 years, and looks - as yesterday it comes from shop. CD copies on a deck sound much more expressively, more attractively and much more interesting than original CDs on my Sugden CD-21 player. I think, that the best alternative than cassette deck does not exist. Nothing on the market today can approach the Nak for there overall sound recording, relability, unique design, and good looks. Good luck for Naks owners!

A great deck. I Own mine for about 18 months now. After a careful recalibration it hasn`t shown any weaknesses during this period. The only deck I know which can beat this machine is my ZX-9, which is a special tuned version of the ZX-9 using direct drive and some refined electronics.

Bottom Line:
This is the most musical Cassette Deck I have ever heard. The ZX-7 has a certain something; great dynamic range low noise, but a special warmth that I haven't heard before in a Cassette Deck. Build quality is good, although the quality of some of the discrete componentry is only average (particularly compared to my KX-1200). The transport is good although I feel the MR-1 (after the gear modification to the idler wheel) is a little better. Where the ZX-7 and ZX-9 have it over ever other cassette deck is the flexibility to calibrate Bias/EQ etc. Once again, if you love retro technology a ZX-7 or ZX-9 is a must.
