Good value for money, deep bass, easy setup, plenty of power, Looks.

Can distort on very loud, bass heavy scenes in movies, although this has not been a major problem for me as i've only had this problem a couple of times. Bass not as tight as I would prefer.

I bought my Topaz 15" sub in a sale last Christmas with big savings. I have been using it for almost 1 year now and have enjoyed listening to the deep bass that it throws at you in movies. It's bass is big and loud and it does thrill. There maybe better subs out there, but not at the price I paid.

The Topaz 15 can produce loud bass. For under $200 I might consider it, but only for home cinema purposes.

Poor vinyl finish becomes easily detached. The bass is not detailed or tuneful. Mine broke down after 2 months.
The auto-on switch doesn't work that well.

The Topaz 15 is not a high quality subwoofer. If your goal is to have a lot bass, and quality is not an issue, go and get it.

Adding this sub in a high quality two way set up is more a step sideways (or even back) then a step forwards. Better save your money and get full range speakers instead.

The bass has no depth, detail, attack and is completely tuneless.
My Topaz died after two months... wich was a relief. Repair men could not find the cause and the shop gave me my dosh back.

I know Rel (Q50, Q100, Strata) and B&W (ASW1000, ASW2000 etc.) do make decent subwoofers, they will provide detailed and tuneful bass to complement a musical setup.

I purchased this sub on sale, and wasn't all that impressed with the TOPAZ 15" in the beginning..but after finding a correct spot for the monster, it worked just fine.
Its got som well defined bass while playing on lower levels, but I still got some problems while playing loud with DVDs
The music on the Gladiator seems to disappear in the opening sequence of the movie suppressed by some heavy duty bass, but I think it's all up to some fine tuning of the frequency levels... (and finding a better room.)
The plane crash in Fight club is FANTASTIC, the bass runs so deep that your stomach starts to ache! However at times especially with loud thumping sounds, there seems to be some distortion.
If you are just sticking to music, this sub is great. All your Rock'n roll albums will simply lift you off the floor

At a bargain price this sub is good, but if you want perfection, you should stick to something else

I think it is a good subwoofer for the price paid. It has a lot of power and it can produce bass down to 19hz!
Mine was broke after one month but it is fixed and it it works ok.

not the tightest, gets wooly at high spls

i got four of these babies cheap for less than a rel storm, as long as you keep the gain fairly low they do a good job, as they seem to be pretty well discounted, get several and daisychain them (remember: the threshold of audibility at 20hz is about 98db). If you can get 'em cheap these are great for for dub or drum and bass...go forth and move some air
