WHAT HiFi says : " Their midrange performance is close to magical at this price point " and it's absolutely true, when two times more expensive speakers produce offensive midband. It seems that 780s guess what is on music source seconds before it's actually played. If you want to listen to music in order to enjoy it, not to shake room glasses or announce neighbours! don't lose 780s. Roseville Bounce House Rental

Strength:

The PSW303 was purchased to supplement a pair of powered M-Audio studio monitors for my modest A/V system. The Polk sub far exceeded my expectations. The subwoofer has a lot of power and sounds fantastic. I was astounded by how much better it made the system. This sub is an excellent deal, and I enthusiastically suggest it. | Killeen Drywall Contractors

I loved it. Sounds huge compared to other amps in the typical home theater setups. Some problem with standing waves in my 30 by 10 foot room. Air filter replacements

Strength:

Tight, transparent and accurate is how I would describe this subwoofer (and my girlfriend's yoga pants). My neighbor gave me this unit, and I didn't ask her any questions so I don't know the model year and I don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I can't tell you how it sounds when played loud or for movies because I use this sub for music only and only while listening at background volume. It performs exactly as needed, it lets me hear the bass notes when my Yamaha NS-6490 speakers aren't receiving enough watts to light up their 8" woofers. However, when I turn my 85 watt per channel Yamaha AX-497 amp up to conversation level I turn the PSW303 off because that's where the bass on my Yammies comes alive and I don't want any more bass than that. I'm not a bass head, but I do love the warmth the sub adds when I do employ it. I use the speaker level inputs because my amp has no sub out, the Polk also has RCA line level and LFE inputs along with volume and variable frequency controls, a slotted port in the rear, 100 watts of power and front firing 8 incher complete the features.

Weakness:

Zero. Zip. Ziltch. Nothing. Nada.

I bought this sub used, in top condition
I used it with my Denon AVC-2000 amp (unfiltered out) and a Yamaha RX-950 receiver which has a fixed crossover at 8o Hz into the sub out.
I also had a chance to compare three subs, the Yamaha YST-SW215, the Energy EXL-S8, and the Onkyo SKW-150. The PA has by far the deepest bass response, and the amp cvan be cranked to full volume before it gets boomy, as opposed to the yamaha and energy, which sound awful to my ear (doubling) after 1/2 volume...
The PA is exceptional for music, but is not filling in the crack between my Jamo C-403 and the low register it hits well. I used the yamaha with it and that helped (for the 100 Hz area). Now I use it with PSB tower speakers that have two 8 inch drivers each and it complements them beautifully, reaching deeply into the lower register that they lack in spite of my high current Onkyo amp. I must mention that when I put on a move with LFE, this sub came alive with room shaking bass. I loved it. Sounds huge compared to other amps in the typical home theater setups. Some problem with standing waves in my 30 by 10 foot room.
