Strength:

Accurate and tight bass. Controls. Auto switch on-off feature.

Weakness:

None so far.

It really does the job!!. Something was missing there when this piece of art was not in place. As I live in a flat I ussually listen to music at rather low volume level. Because of this it was a very hard job for the twin 6" woofers of my floorstanding fronts to reproduce good bass at low volume levels. Like every bass fanatic I had to address the point and boutgh this box. The hole system sound changed as a result. It''s a very complete solution: It is powered by an own amplifier, power-port downwards vented, sits on its own base, has a power on-off switch, a phase switch and two controls of volume and frequency cut. Its HVCD feature makes a not humming tight bass. Very sensible to its position within the room. Try to have soft surfaces so as to absorb all unwanted vibrations such as carpets, armchair, etc. My system: Rotel RA-971 Integrated Amplifier Rotel RCD-951 Compact Disc Player Rotel RT-935 Tuner 2 Polk Audio RT-12 Floorstanding Frontspeakers Polk Audio PSW-300 subwoofer

Strength:

Solid, sits on it's own baseplate. On board amp with crossover contols and auto sensing "on" switch circuit.

Weakness:

None

The PSW 300 produces some serious LFEs. This unit has an auto signal sensing "on" switching circuit. It falls quiescent after the signal has been absent from the inputs for a few minutes. Green light - on, Red light - off. It also has a power switch on the back for those times you will be leaving the system off for more than a day or so.

Also, the PSW 300 contains a set each of binding post connectors in and out for speakers to allow the sub to act as a satellite speaker controller. Size is not too large but very weighty. This sub re-creates big screen bass sound.

I'm sorry I don't know the cost of this unit as it was given to me by a friend. However, I could not be more pleased with the quality of build and the sound. Home theater is an unbelievable experience. Music is pure and uncolored.
