Strength:

- Compact - Affordable - Adds a nice punch in small rooms

Weakness:

- Not a lot of power - Distortion at high volumes - Occasional "popping" at high volumes

The KLH PSW8100 is a decent entry-level subwoofer. Bottom-firing with only 100 watts of power, the PSW8100 does not provide a significant amount of kick at the bottom end. However, for small rooms and budget systems, it does its job. The bottom-firing speaker helps with small room spaces, especailly if one has hardwood floors or other reflective material. The sub does pop or crackle sometimes when cranked high, but anyone in the market for a low-end sub shouldn't need to worry about it. If you need to crank this all the way up, then you should've bought a more powerful sub.

Strength:

Midbass and some lows not as hard hitting as youd expect from a desent 8" ...if it had been a 10" would have been better

Weakness:

mine was defective so i dont know

I bought this sub as a quick bottom end filler for my mini system. When I got it first hooked up (and yes i hooked it up right I know how to do that and i can hook up a whole theater so I didnt mess anything up there) the subwoofer popped and made a horrible sound.I had it the gain all the way down so I dont know what happend. I returned it. Mine was a defective model. It sounds good for the money (one that isnt defective)
