Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $3995.00 from Online

Summary:
To correct my previous post, these are a 4-way design. With some upgrades to cables, the VR4jr's have blossomed beyond my expectations. In addition to the excellent imaging, full 3D soundstage, and bass that is fast and tight, the music is vibrant,subtle,dynamic,..extremely life like.Handles all types of music;classical, jazz, accoustic, vocallists, but it took a change to an Audio Metallurgy GA-0 IC from pre to monoblocks before they were at home with rock & roll. And now they sing accross the spectrum.I absolutely love them and again,I highly recommend an audition.Never thought that I would descibe $4k speakers as a bargain,..but they are. They have totally changed my appreciation for music! Strengths:
Everything

Weaknesses:
Heavy Load w/ buckshot

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $3995.00 from New

Summary:
First I must mention what a pleasure it is to do business with Albert Von Schweikert and the dedicated people at Von Schweikert Audio. They are intelligent& passionate about the music, and extremely customer service oriented. With the VR4jr they have designed and manufactured of one of the finest speakers I've ever heard. As I understand it,Albert's intent was to produce a studio reference quality moniter at an affordable price point. And he has done so to perfection. The VR4jr's are a 3-way, 2 piece stacked system.Tonally smooth, accurate and detailed from top to bottom.A real pleasure, they are never fatiguing. What I like best about them are thier pinpoint imaging and 3D soundstaging.Instuments and vocals seperated by air and fixed within the soundstage that extends left and right beyond each moniter and deepens beyond the backwall. The speakers almost always disappear, producing a very life like musical yet accurate and detailed sound. There is a real musical presence that is not only enjoyed from the large sweet spot but from anywhere in the room.I strongly suggest for best sound;1)add leadshot or sand 2)shotgun bi-wire 3)allow to burn in for 400-500 hrs 4)take the time to find proper placement,it's worth it! I highly recommend the VR4jr's.Mine are paired with Rogue Audio Magnum 120 monoblocks & 99 preamp for spectacular music!

Strengths:
Life like musical presence / detail within the soundstage / non fatiguing / accuracy.

Weaknesses:
Not really a weakness but do find the right placement b4 adding leadshot.

Similar Products Used:
None similar but have used Magnepan,Altec Lansing,Wharfedale,JBL
