Bottom Line:
After a very good offer price at Richer Sounds decided to change from standard rear surround speaker to bi-polar.

The model I purchased has tweeter and mid-range facing the listening position and a mid-range only pointing in the opposite direction.

This worried me as all pictures show tweeter and mid on both sides of the unit. I contacted Eltax who confirmed the change to improve sound quality.

Having tried a pair of Mordaunt Short bi-polars I have to agree. These units had tweeter and mid on both sides BUT on one side of the listening position the tweeter would be at the top, and on the other side at the bottom.

In an ideal world this may not matter if you are the only listener in the middle of the listening position. But if watching films with others it was noticable that the rear sound was "brighter" on one side of the room.

But the change to Bi-polars has enlarged the sound and given a greater/better bass clout in movie sound tracks.

Thoroughly recommended at the price sold.
