What an impressive, tight and smooth performer. After listening to the Synchrony and Imagine lines and knowing Paul Barton's commitment to excellence and continual improvement in design, I purchased the PSB SubSeries 500 from Lyle @ HiFi Attic in Vernon B.C. In honor of it's heritage PSB continues to offer incredible value with this Subwoofer. After some indepth listening I can confidently say the Sub continues to grow more endering and smooth week by week. The Subseries 500 exceeds the Velodyne SPL-1200 I was listening to. Its transient smoothness and clarity combined with the power and punch in low octaves (24 HZ) easily makes it one of the most sophisticated sub octave speaker in it's price range and perhaps on the market, and challenges some of the truly heroic subs out there. The SubSeries 500 faithfully reproduces low octave notes with all the clarity, linear punch and presence of the original base instruments. A smooth and solid reference grade performer. Never harsh or strident, always a compliment to other speakers of fine pedigree providing a full range sound stage effortlessly. An expectional Sub with rock solid build quality and startingly tight, and transient musical reproduction complementing both two channel and/or multi channel surround systems.

What can I say. This sub continues to blow me away. It has the power and output of my old JLf112 and hits lower, deeper and more accurate in the low register than my former SVS PB-12 plus. I gave the SVS a shot because everyone on the net talks about them and yes, they are fantastic FOR THE MONEY, but realistically cannot compete with this sub. Maybe the PB-Ultra, but I'm staying with this one for a bit. It bests my JLf112, Velodyne DD15, SVS PB-12 plus and is on par with the performance of my most recent Earthquake Supernova MKVI-15 (Which is a killer sub). Also the sub is beautiful to look at. Good job PSB....
