This review is for floor standing Heliade (US market model) it comes with TZ2400 tweeter and two woofers. Front port. Bi-wireable. Cognac paper trim that is the worst I have ever seen. The paper delaminated after one year. I had to glue it at the edges with wood glue. But I can forgive shoddy finish because these are very fast, very articulate, decent timbre and accurate instrument tone reproduction. But the most prized quality of these speakers is theri ability to convey the live performance and all the sudden spikes of sounds that come to your ear just like at the live venue when first cord or first voice note is taken. I have heard a lot of much more expensive speakers and only Wilson Audio Sophia and Devore Gibbon can match and exceed the existing realism of these Triangles. There are ATC speakers that would do timbre better, Totem Forests that would play equally well but both would require giant high current amp. So for the retail price and ease of impedance nothing comes close , imho. Now they call Triangle sound 'a house sound' exciting and fast, but be careful I tried much more expensive speakers from upper range of Triangle models and was let down. So always audition first, as even Triangle occasionally cannot resist to make speakers that sound like horrible mass-market B&W. I suspect anything from Triangle with new TZ2500 and TZ2550 tweeters has to be carefully auditioned as it does not sound as Triangles of yesteryears.Instead I discovered that newer models sound dark and incoherent. These older speakers are unbelievable bargains on used market, grab them if you can.

Triangle Antal Ex. The newest, top model of the Esprit Series

Have yet to hear a better, more rounded speaker at the price...and I've tried many

Since Triangle has done away with the highly rated Celius (one of Sam Tellig's all time favourites), these Antals are now the top of the range. I have heard the Celius several times before but these new Antals are playing on a completely new playing field. Everything on these speakers are supposedly new. New cone and new drivers.

After hearing these speakers at my local hifi shop, I was immediately taken aback. Not by the incredibly smooth and rich sound but the unbelievable price. These speakers sound at least twice the price. I suppose that most of the money went into R&D and driver/cone materials than the actual case, as it's made of vinyl woodprint and not real wood. But I do have to say that they do look rather good and you couldn't really tell the difference.

Once heard, I had to buy them and a couple of days later they were standing in my listening room. Quite a feat as they weigh 25kg each. Naturally I let them break in several hours first but the sound they conveyd was already quite ok, a little closed and muddled but hints of its talents were showing. After a week or so (100 hrs), something bizarre happened, they speakers sounded worse and worse. Even more muddled and confused. Even a friend of mine (non-audiophile) chuckled and remarked that he preferred my previous speakers (a couple of Sonus Faber Conertinos). I was starting to get a little worried and frustrated.

But surely enough, a week (over 200 hours) later, the speakers really came into their own. Amazing soundstage, accurate imaging and breathtaking resolution. Instruments sound natural. Voices sound believable. But what really is incredible about these large speakers is that they have abosultely no issues about room size or positioning. They sound great in my small listening room and just as good in the much larger shop. They also have no problem standing close to the wall. I also tried them with a lot of equipment including Naim CD Players (CD5x, CDX2), a Raysonic CD128 and Int. Amps including Pathos Classic One, Naim Nait, Graaf GM50. The sound these speakers achieved from the various combinations was nothing short of spectacular. I actually prefered them to some lower end Martin Logans, and most Operas and Sonus Fabers, and many were a lot more expensive.

These are without doubt one of the best speakers I have ever bought or had the pleasure to listen to. I am still amazed at the price. One of the most natural sounding speakers on the market today. The fact that they are so 'set' (including tubes) and room friendly make these a real 'must hear'.

Disappearing act. Lifelike and huge soundstage. Fast and dynamic bass

Bright before the parts upgrade on my system.

I just got a used Antal on a very good price. It is quite difficult to sell it in the secondhand market here in Singapore because of the bad notion that this speakers sound bright. Well it is "BRIGHT" to my sytem at least.

These are actually good speakers as long as you know how to make use of it's strength, which are the transparent mid and highs and a fast and dynamic bass.

Upon first listen to my system, it was really bright that my ears cannot take it on some recordings. Bass seems to be sometimes loose.

Did surgery and replaced the tweeter caps (using normal 2.7uf bi-polar electrolytic caps) to Mundorf Supreme 2.2uf and the mid driver caps (using a normal 6uf bi-polar electrolytic caps) to Solen. Internal cables were replaced with Neotech PCOCC solid core.

Wow, what a diference and I'm just hitting the 60hrs mark while writing this. The transparency of these speakers are so good that the soundstage is just lifelike. Higs are now extended and clear, without the irritating glare/sibilance. The mids are now more tangible and the bass seemed to improved in weight and texture.

All in all, i could conclude that the review stated at Soundstage was true. In my case, in my system, after I did all these parts upgrade.

If you could get them at a good price don't hesitate. If it doesn't work out on your system, ask somebdy to do the upgrade, if you are not handy with the soldering iron.

This review is for the Celius 202. I bought them on blind faith having read a lot of good press over the years. I'm driving the Celius with an Electrocompaniet ECI-3 (integrated) rated at 70wpc into 8ohms; it is more than sufficient to make these babies sing. I couldn't be happier with the combination. I imagine the Celius would also work well with good tube gear being so efficient. All of positive reviews you read about the Celius is absolutely true. These speakers are simply the best speakers I've heard for the money and I've heard a lot of speakers. I just wish I discovered them sooner. I also own a pair of Maggies and all I have to say is the Celius is every bit as transparent as planars but with the added punch of boxed speaker. The Celius handles transients with the best of them. All i have to say is these speakers are addictive.

It will disappoint you if you are a bass freak. Bass is not deep but fast and well articulated-much like a horn speaker

This is a review for the Triangle Celius 202 floorstander. It is a great speaker and at the price I think it has no match, unless you push an extra $1000 at least. I also own the Triangle Magellan Concerto which are six times the price of Celius, but believe me when I say that Celius are one hell of a speaker. If you want to come as close to the real thing as possible and not to spend a fortune then they are the best you can get.

Soundstage, transparency, dynamic, high efficiency, detailed and refined, open mid, extended treble

Slightly forward treble

The Antal 202 is a great loudspeaker for the price. It is amazingly expressive, transparent and refined. The mid is evenly balanced. Concerning the treble, only after the complete burning process (around 3 months), i realized how exceptional it was (extended, detailed and refined, with almost no distorsion). Even after the complete burning process, the treble remains slighly forward. But this forwardness was easly to rectify. I only had to removed the spikes at the rear, keeping the ones at the front of the louspeakers. The loudspeakers being slightly tilted backward, the forwardness is completely gone and bass i now perfectly synchronized with the dynamic treble. About the bass, it is fast, full and more refined than i was used too.

VERY "honest" - only as good as the rest of your equipment!

i was searching a really transparent, natural speaker and i listend to quite a lot in that price range (at ''96). these were just WAY better than any others. frightingly fast and detailed bass, highs like heaven and mids like nature itself. (at that time they had only on bass, but the tweeters were the same as in the 2nd best triangle.) unlike many other reviewers, i like them pretty much on rock musik as well - for their forwardness, for being fast and exact. for their pressure. don''t misunderstand me: they push forward when the music does, not as their own "note". what is true, is that a bad recording will sound bad. though still a bad recording of good music is far better than other way round ;) of course they do great on jazz and classic - symphonies are supernatural (as this kind of music should be!) the look i like, it''s not kind of impressive, but elegant and beautyfull. just be carefull with what you match them! how your amp sounds, that''s how they sound. and if your amp is very neutral (honest), they sound like your source. exactly. if either one is harsh or lacks bass, they will do so. mine were lacking bass - until i got another amp... match great with valve amps: they just sing (and tubes'' what tamed my natural but hard cd player). placement sensitiv! so you have the option of moving them and get amazed... ;) i qualify myself as an audiophile, not because of having the bucks (which i don''t - that''s one of the reasons why i own the antal), but for my ears! my equipment: - audio innovations s500, 25W classA tube amp. a hell of an amplifier!!! deep bass matches great, rich sound just puts the musicians into your living room through the antals mids. - cambridge d500 cd player. natural, good soundstage. First this review is for the triangle Celluis speaker [ they did not have a catigory for this one so i put it here]
The celluis is a floorstadning speaker with 2 six inch wooffers a 6 inch mid and the new triangle tweeter.
When I first got them out of the box and hooked them up they sounded horrible, it sounded like I had three diffent speakers one with exclent mid range one with harsh bitting treble and one with no bass response. I wasnt worried [well maby a little] because I knew from this forum that they take a while to brake in, so I played sailling to philly by mark Knoffler as a refferance. then I set them on the reggie staion on my dish and left them running every day when i went to work, each day they sounded better after about 50 hours the bass began to appear, but the trebble was still bitting, I thuoght it might be the differance between the silk tweeter I was used to and the metal triangle, but I keept playing them. after 100 hours the trebble began to mellow and the speakers began to merge into one. betwen 100 and 200 hours this blending improved even more, supprisingly the tweeters seemed to take the longest brake in time. I have never heard a transformation like this now they are fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
like the other reviews I have to point out the imaging[ because of my wife I have to keep my speakers close to gether] even at 6 feet apart I get a sound stage that fills the room dispite this I find that they are very placement senitive and must be toed in. The cellius does every thing right! Great bass it is not overpowering but very tight and controled, they make me realize how bass bloated my missions were. They like to play loud. The midrange is fantastic so life like and clear they do have a preferance for paino. and after brakein the trebble is very detailed and not at all harsh. i love these speakers!!!!!!
I listened to a lot of speakers, but even the B&w 801 did not match these for value [11,000 vs 1800]. do your self a favor and belive the hype buy a triangle speaker!
