Review 2 of 3 Summary: For some while I have been looking for a set of studio monitors that could also be used at home. Having listened to many monitors, I bought the Spirit Absolute 2. At first they sounded terrible because the cones were quite stiff. But now after several months of use, depth and imaging are superb, and bass response is amazing. Being an efficient speaker (90 db., 1 watt 8 ohms) they are an easy load for my Musical Fidelity A2 amplifier, but love playing at very loud volumes with a large amp. Frequency response is quoted as 45 - 20K +2 -3db, or 35 - 23K, -10db. Features include a cast frame, edge wound, aerogel woofer; Bass reflex; bi-wireable gold terminals, magnetic shielding, bass reflex. For $400.00 they are truely the professional class leader and far out perform many more expensive speakers from companies like Rogers and Ruark. For your $400.00 you do not get grills or expensive wood finishes, just excellent engineering and unquestionable sound quality. Amazing value
Buy with confidence, but give them time to run in!!!
