Strength:

a real breakthrough for extracting high-end sound from the average living room.

Weakness:

their little sibling, the "magic cube", should be a better bargain if paired with a good subwoofer. Low efficiency.

I haven't heard these spakers under appropriate listening conditions yet, but I'm amazed by the breathless reviews they're getting from the "small" high-end press. Dick Olsher (of stereophile and Fi reviewing fame) designed them -- hand is White Paper on their design (available at dahlia.com) makes a compelling case for this unusual approach to *capitalizing* on typical listening room reflective surfaces rather than *minimizing* them. Basically, low midrange is pointed toward the ceiling, while directional higher freq's are aimed forward. True audiophile-grade components are used throughout -- drivers typically encountered only in $6K+ speakers!

The soundstage is supposed to be truly gorgeous. And the smaller Magic Cubes, at about $700, sound like a steal. I can't wait to hear these babies! If you've got a pair, will you please post a review here, or email me with your impressions? Thanks.
