from SAMMANS ELECTRONICS Summary: BROUGHT 1044SE AS FLOOR DEMO'S....
I NOW HAVE A FULL RBH SURROUND SYSTEM, 1044SE, 441SE, & 44SE SURROUNDS...IT ALL STARTED WITH THE 1044SE... I FIND THESE SPEAKERS ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER OWNED.. THEYAPPRICIATE GOOD ELECTRONICS... I STARTED WITH A JVC THX ULTRA2 RECEIVER WITH BI /AMP CAPABILITIES. PLACMENT IS CRITICAL FOR STEREO BUT LESS SO FOR 5.1... FOR STEREO THEY LIKE TO BE ABOUT 2FEET FROM THE REAR AND 3 - 4 FEET FROM THE SIDE WALLS.. I ALSO UPGRADED & HEARD A BIG IMPROVMENT IN THE BASS USING A 100WPC POWERAMP INSTEAD IF THE BUILT IN RECEIVER AMPS..I FOUND THIS SUPPRISING SINCE THE 100WPS POWER AMP IS 20 YRS OLD AND THE NEW RECEIVER IN BI AMP MODE SHOULD BE 240WPC... THAT GOES TO SHOW YOU ITS NOT JUST ABOUT THE WATTS BUT ABOUT THE QUALITY.... THE RECEIVER RETAILS FOR ABOUT 1600.00 SO NO CHEAP STUFF HERE EITHER. ....NOW ABOUT THE SOUND. THE MIDS ARE VERY SMOOTH AND REALLY OPEN UP IN BI AMP MODE. TREBLE ALSO VERY SMOOTH WITH NICE DETAIL ..BASS DEPENDS IN AMP AND PLACMENT. WITH SIDE WOOFERS BASS CAN BE A CHALLENGE TO GET RIGHT. FOR THEATER LESS CRITICAL BUT FOR STEREO I FOUND THEY WORK BEST WITH WOOFERS ON THE OUTSIDE, 8+ FEET APART, TWO FEET FROM THE BACK WALL AND 4 FEET FROM THE SIDE WALLS AND ON SPIKES... iF YOU DON'T HAVE THE ROOM FOR THIS TYPE OF STEREO SET UP YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER SOMETHING LESS SENSITIVE TO PLACMENT... REMEMBER, REAR PORTS AND SIDE WOOFERS ALWAYS LIKE TO BE A GOOD DISTANCE FROM THE WALLS.
Strengths: COMPACT FOOTPRINT WITH 30HZ BASS EXTENSION AND VERY NICE IMAGING. GREAT BUILD QUALITY! Weaknesses: BASS CAN GET A BIT MUDDY IF YOU CAN GET THEM AWAY FROM THE WALLS AND ON SPIKES. ALSO IF ONE SPEAKER IS CLOSE TO SIDE WALL(INSIDE 3FT) AND THE OTHER ONE IS NOT, THE SPEAKER FARTHER FROM THE SIDE WALL MAY SOUND A BIT LOUDER DUE TO THE WALL REFLECTIONS CANCALLING SOME SOUND ON THE SPEAKER CLOSER TO THE WALL. TRY TO BALLANCE DISTANCE TO SIDE WALLS AS EVEN AS POSSIBLE. Similar Products Used: LOTS OF OHM PRODUCTS,L, C2,H,F,I...CELESTION DITTON BOOKSHELF'S. DCM TIME WINDOWS. JBL L110.. ROGERS LS3/5...

from Private Party Summary: Great speakers, excellent build quality, superb imaging. Very good sound for music, and home theater, especially when mated with the RBH surrounds and sub. Strengths: First, these speakers look very good with the covers removed, exposing the sexy aluminum drivers. Sound is very detailed; imaging is superb. Not too bright sounding or harsh. Vocals are very airy and detailed. I have all RBH speakers and they integrate together seamlessly. The 1010sep sub is awesome. Support is very good from RBH. I have called them before & after I bought these and they have always been very helpful. Weaknesses: 4 ohm likes a bit more power. Spikes are really needed due to the narrow footprint Similar Products Used: Paradigm, DCM, Polk, B&W

from Electronic Essential Summary: I was in the right place at the right time one day at Electronic Essentians and got these demos for $200 - albeit not looking their finest. These speakers do sound how they are supposed to, though -
the mid/highs sounding particularly good. The soundstage these speakers create is amazing, but is basically limited to the higher frequencies. The side-firing woofers, however have not grown on me; in fact, the very opposite. It may be my smaller listening room, but I have increasingly noticed a growing - in my perception - disunity between the bass and the rest. I really do love these speakers And look at them with awe everytime after 6 months, but the incohesiveness of these (at least in stereo use) may "grow" on you. They are definitely better as mains in a home theater system. Strengths: Soundstage. Imaging(even when I was powering them with a Yamaha reciever). Speed. Price(obviously, for $200) Weaknesses: Larger room needed. Could benefit from larger forward-facing drivers. Similar Products Used: NAD 1020 Preamp

from RMS ADUIO Summary: Best sounding speakers i have listing to,yes there are more speakers that cansound better if that is a word that you want to use but for the price, this is it.I am very, very, very, happy that took the time to research this company. Strengths: I am very happy with the 1044/se. My first pair of speakers was the polk rt10,had them for about five years. Then i was reading stero review from april and jeff atkins was talking about the smaller speakers the 641, so i call the company and they sent me the information about all the speakers they had.I spoke to kevin @RMS audio and went to listen to them ,and boy i was very happy with them, never stop looking back.kevin gave me a great deal with the main speakers and the center that i couldn't say no. I got all for under 1700 ,that's a great deal. The sound is very rich and smooth. Listen to Miles kind of blue and drink so wine. The high's amd low's and midrange are great.I have them in black and they still look great Weaknesses: Need better feet or a bigger base for them to stand on. $0.00 Summary: I purchased these speakers almost 2 years ago. I first read about these speakers online while I was researching new speakers for my home theater setup. I ended up purchasing these speakers sight unseen as I could not find a dealer in the entire DFW metroplex that even carried the signiture series. I could not have been happier. These speakers sound great!! The sound seperation, richness, depth and clarity is breathtaking. Friends have come over and commented on how good these speakers realy sound. Listening to The Eagles, Hell Freezes Over DVD on DTS tells the whole story. Sit back, close your eyes and you will believe that you are there onstage. Not only do you hear the richness and depth of the music, but you will feel it as well. I have listened to Infinity, Bose, Monitor Audio, Polk, Kenwood, and Pioneer speakers before and since I have purchased these RBH speakers and they just do not compare.
Speaker setup:
Front: RBH 1044SE
Center: RBH 441SE
Rear: RBH 61SE
Sub: RBH 1010 SEP
Cables: BetterCables.com premium speaker wire Strengths: Sound, richness, clarity Similar Products Used: Kenwood, custom built
