I now have the QLN ARTEC for about a year. Its is made and constructed in Sweden with high quality elements (the same woofers as in Wilson Witts I am told)Its a big floorstander and the newest version is about 6000 dollars (I have an early version, now on the scondhand market for around 3000 dollars). Its a big speaker and the sound is every bit big in a positive meaning. The speaker provid you with a hugh soundstage and it can play at realistic ´high volume without any stress and thanks to its high eff of 93db its one of the few really high end speakers that dont need a huge power amp. My Nelson pass 5 with 90 W is just fine. The speaker really gives you the "slam" and power you need for high volume pop, rock and blues with awesome bass. Its perhaps not the speaker if you play chamber music at low levels and it has not the microdetails of the best electrostatics. After listing to a really good sounding CD like Jenifer Warnes "famous blue raincoat" on the Artec at high volume its just sound silly one many of the so beloved small minimonitors like Sonus faber grand piano and Gallos.
Since the Artec is so rare I would be happy if other Artec owners could contact me to share experince!
