Bottom Line:
Like the other review, I got this for a really good price (around $350) and it is totally *killer*. Bass is authoratative and not muddy at all. It's just really really *pure*. The subwoofer is *huge* though, so it's not something you can just stick somewhere out of the way. Also, as a passive subwoofer, it'll need a power amp, which is a semi-hidden cost. (If you don't realize this at first, you'll suddenly have to shell out more money for an amp) I use the Marantz AV700, and I love it!

For "value" below, I'm rating it at the list price, not at the price I paid for. If you get it at the price I paid for it, then I give it five stars.

Bottom Line:
This is a great passive sub. the bass is tight, tuneful and extends to below 25Hz with authority.
Overall 5 stars as it easily matches the output of my THX powered sub and goes lower. Got a great deal on it and ended up getting a Kenwood THX amp, the sub, and a mono 31 band equalizer for a total of $670.

7|4|7 -- Live Free Or Die Hard vs. Transformers?

So...which do you think? They both have an established franchise, but they both have demerits that undo a fraction of that target market. They both look good, but I'm going with the live-action version of Transformers. Michael Bay has really won me over with the chase scene in The Island -- I ... Read More »

Okay, what do guys think about the difference between the Denon AVR-3805 vs. Integra DTR-7.4. One difference is price $999.99 vs. $1400, and the Integra has Net Tune capability and THX Select Certification. Other than that, they seem pretty similar. What are your opinions??Read More »

Hi all ! I wonder if somebody here owns/audited Integra 7.4 receiver. Any info/impressions would be much appreciated, especially regarding how it sounds for music (my first priority). Also, what would be a good pair of floor-standing speakers to match it ? Thanks in advanceRead More »
