Strength:

Ive been soured on the klh name in the past, due to bad purchases in my neophyte days, but this speaker actually caught my attention from halfway across the store. I had been in the market for a better center channel speaker for about three months,

Strength:

simple great looks...crystal clear...high power handling...affordable...low profile

Weakness:

not a big name brand....but its the sound that really matters!

this center channel works great if you want crisp detailed voices and action...the explosions...dialogue...are loud and very efficient...making them sound extremely real...they are able to handle sound peaks with ease without distorting what so ever...my friends come over to watch movies all the time...varying from comedy...action...and foreign films...they all sound great through this center channel...you can't go wrong with this affordable center channel...although you won't get the big name brands with the speaker...you will however get the big sound at less then half what you pay for other brands

Strength:

Price, size, very nice sound

Weakness:

Nothing apparent

I was in the market for a center speaker as the first speaker addition to my new HT setup. I auditioned this, along with JBL, Infinity, Bose and Yamaha units at a local Best Buy (you have to go during the daytime: less customer traffic, and they don't have every system running full bore). I'm not looking for audiophile: I wanted a clean, clear sound that I could match with my fronts.

Admittedly, I wanted to save some money, so price was important. But, I discovered that the 941 had a smooth, clean sound comparable to the Infinity and JBL boxes, which were also very good. The price was right, and the size was perfect. It squeezes in right above my Sony 32" set in the wall unit. My left and rights are a 20 year old pair of Ohm Model E two-ways, so I was a bit concerned about voice matching. But making tone and distance adjustments with my Pioneer HT receiver made the matching very easy, and they all sound great.

I suppose I could have saved $10-20 shopping on line, but I wanted to be able to return this quickly, so I bought local. But, I won't be returning it. And I'm sure there are better speakers for those with a bit more discerning needs. But, it's just my wife, my daughter, and me (and occasional family visitors) and this box fit the bill very nicely and I love the sound. It's an excellent center unit for the price.

Strength:

Perfect timbre matching with my other speakers, great sound dispersion, excellent price

Weakness:

.....The KLH logo on the front

OK, you're probably wondering what an audiophile is doing placing a review on a KLH speaker. For starters, this speaker kicks serious butt! Center channel speakers, to me (I'm a home theater freak) are the most important speaker in a home theatre because that is where nearly all reproduced voice comes from. I listened to Cerwin Vega (too boomy, sloppy voice reproduction), Infinity (highs were too shaky), Bose (yeech! terrible), JBL (good....but let's face it, their barely getting by living off their name and charging for it too boot), and many others. Then, for some weird reason I cannot comprehend, I listened to this KLH center channel on a low-end JVC receiver and it just blew my mind! Even the cost! For a mere $80 some dollars I got a center channel that I would pitt against any high end model (in a double blind test) and feel confident about it. Highs are crisp, mids are near perfect, and it even handles some low end as well! I would recommend this speaker to anyone from beginner to pro. Of course, some may find the KLH logo on the front a little tacky for their champagne tatse. I just suck it up and feel proud of what my small investment does for me every time I crank her open!

Strength:

solid sound

Weakness:

kinda heavy

This is a good buy. This center speaker works very well to be so inexpensive. Sound is clear and words are always audible. I use it with four klh 970A speakers and together they sound great. This is a good addition to a home theatre, even if your not on a budget.

Strength:

Size, Good Looks, Clear As A Bell

Weakness:

Can't Find Any.

Went looking for a center speaker to go in the VCR slot below my TV. Max height I could get away with was 5". This Speaker was affordable ($89 at Good guys after 10% off coupon) and fit perfectly so I thought I'd give it a try before blowing $200 or more on a "good" one. Best move I've made yet. This thing actually performs. It is crystal clear and has a depth I'd not really counted on. I've listened to quite a few high dollar centers and this one hangs right in there with the best of 'em. Don't hesitate to give it a try. You can always take it back and spend hundreds later... But I seriously doubt you'll feel the need.

This is a great center channel speaker for the price. It has wide-dispersion and wide-range sound. I particularly find it's wide/low profile design very appealing. The highs are crisp and clear and handles the most demanding soundtracks with ease. The tonal balance between this KLH 941 and my main speakers, KLH 900B's, displays almost seamless, matching timbre.

Strength:

Great look and sound + low price.

Weakness:

A D is weak.

I really like the look vs. the boxy veneer models. Sound is very good. I'm not sure people complain about bass on a center channel. These speakers are designed to accurately reproduce human voice, not bass drum sounds.

Strength:

crisp, clear vocals, wide dispersion, small so you can stick it just about anywhere

Weakness:

only when compared with my current psb center which cost three times more

I owned the 941 center for awhile and was very satisfied with its performance. in my opinion you probably will not find a better center channel speaker for under $200. I needed to return mine in order to better match my fronts, but I will consider this model for a system I plan to get for my hearing-impaired mother (not deaf, just can't decipher dialogue from the tv speakers). the klh 941 will pierce the air with crystal clear vocals, and for under a bill, what more can you ask?
