Summary:
I use these as the rear speakers for with a Nakamichi AV-7 receiver. I have a great room that I didn't want to run speaker wire all over or drill holes in the wall so this was the right solution. You plug the speakers into any wall outlet. The sound is great but you must tune the spearkers and the sending unit. If not tuned you pick-up your neighbors 900mhz. phone conversations. I bought mine refurbished? from UBID at a great price. They seem to be new-not refurbished and had a one year warranty. A wired speaker may sound a little better if you are sitting right next to the speaker. Additional volume and tone controls are on each speaker. Volume is great!

Summary:
These speakers are great for easy listening. Not too great bass, but excellent emulated sourround sound. I recommend these to any one, the are the best i have heard apart from the Bose lifestyle 12 system.
