It is true that the TLX105 speakers are nowhere near the best sounding speakers on the market, but considering their ultra-cheap price (I paid $50 for them) it is amazing that they even produce decent sound. With the bass and treble controls set on "0", they have non-existent bass and the treble is very recessed. But, when you crank up the treble and bass to "+5", they sound amazing. True, the power handling of these speakers is not good, but they only cost $50! It's not as if they were $3,000 speakers. If you want a cheap pair of speakers to complement a low-power or second-hand receiver, consider the TLX105's, otherwise consider some of the higher-priced JBL's.

They will not even handle 50w of bass continuous. I turned my yamaha recieverup to 3(up to 10 max, well past 5 without distortion) and these little speakers
blew up. You who said they handle 75w probably never tried to push that 75w
amplifyer more than 1/10 of the way up.

I got them free with my receiver. Use them for rear speakers. They sound great and can handle way more than 50 watts. I've pushed them up to over 75. The only thing I don't like is that the grills don't come off so that You can see how much they're moving.
