Strength:

Strengths: -right on the budget! -Quadrapole type (for spacious surround effects) -Acceptable mids and highs -rear keyhole port for easy wall mount installation -Stylish -Discontinued product

Weakness:

Weaknesses: -Not ideal as front speakers bass sound lacks during stereo mode (ideal for surround) -unremovable grill hard to clean when dust fills in (dust cover needed) -not that powerful for large room (ideal for small/medium room)

This cheap priced gem performs well in the surround category, with its quadrapole feature it surely deliver spacious surround effect, don't know why it falls in the main speaker category, by its architecture its surely fits the surround speaker family. Rear keyhole port does saves a lot of money coz you don't have to buy some wall bracket to mount it one a pair of screws is all the u need for a mount. Don't expect this product to give u some BASS BOOST coz it only cover an 80Hz low pitch compared to some of its same class which are below this range. So its not for main speaker performance during stereo for it lack bass, but it does promise something in the mids and highs which ideal for ambience sound. The power of this speaker is limited 80watts ideal for small and medium rooms. If you want to buy this gem, well sad to say they cut making this, baby.

Strength:

Fairly cheap way to get surround sound. Good for limited bandwidth ProLogic stuff. Low profile design, almost sleek.

Weakness:

Any attempt to hear full-range sound from four three-inch speakers is doomed.

I purchased these instead of the ones that "matched" tne Infinity Composition Preludes that I use on the front end of my home theatre. These speakers are decent for movie surround. I think that they were designed for ProLogic set-ups and would be good in that limited context. But, for Dolby Digital and dts programs they don't cut it. Moreover, listening to the bonus dts surround audio song on the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" DVD is truly excruciating. When the soundstage swings to the rear...Yuck. Imagining SACD 5.1 or DVD-Audio on these would be even worse. If you are watching HiFi-VHS tapes through a circa 1994 receiver, then these are perfect for you. All others look elsewhere.

Strength:

Awesome sound!

Weakness:

Discontinued product.

I purchased my first pair of the Infinity QPS-1 speakers about three years ago for my main theatre system and was greatly impressed. the quadrophonic sound that comes from unit allows you to hear things that would have gone unnoticed. I am building a complete home theatre system in my basement - and of course - these speakers are a must to have. The unfortunate part is that Inifinity has quit making them. I was able to find the last pair that Accoustic Sound Design had. I even would have paid more, but only cost me $225 ($100 cheaper than my first pair cost me). Accoustic Sound Design had them shipped out same day and received within five business days. Fantastic speakers for surround - I just wish Infinity still made them so that others could enjoy

Strength:

nice, diffuse surround sound

Weakness:

lacks bass

I'd like to the second the review posted below. The bass driver in a the P-QPS makes a big difference. I got the P-QPS's on ubid for only $142 each, and a batch of them just went for $127 tonight. If you're thinking of the QPS-1's, check out the P-QPS's while Ubid still has them. If you're going for Dolby 5.1, you'll definetly want the deeper bass produced by the P-QPS's.

Strength:

The price of the speaker is not bad for a guy/girl on a budget

Weakness:

Dynamics not good,Sound is not great compared to some other rear channel speakers.Only good in small systems.Limted audio frequency.

A good speaker for the price. A design thats good for rear channel, but needs to be more dynamic,Complete in sound reproduction.frequency range is limited and sound seems to be flat with some DVD's.The novice may find this speaker perfect for his or her needs. The audiophile may seem to have wasted the money and be MAD that he did not get all the sound he or she paid for.

Polk audio Rti15, Infinity IL10,PSB.The speakers I use are more detailed . More sound can be heared in the listening and nonlistening positions. The sound is full more complete. When you are playing a dvd. You want the best sound available from your equipment. The only way I would keep this speaker in my system is to want to save money. All my equipment will be equal in value and performance

Strength:

These speakers are great for people with limited floor space and look great on the wall. I have the white ones that can hardly be noticed, light weight and easy to install. These speakers seem to handle any amount of volume I throw at them with no trouble. I use them for television as well as stereo.

Weakness:

At times I believe these speakers not to be as clear as I would have expected them to be. Their not inexpensive, at least as far as rear speakers go. They appear to sound tin-e. to me. They also sound as if their not where they are. Hard to determin separation unless the sound track is very deffinitive.

I suspect I would purchase these speakers again. But I think I'll try to use the same rear speakers as the front. I believe clarity should not be discounted even though you will only recieve about 15% of the sound out of the rear. As long as you have the floor space! These speakers should have been marketed as space saver speakers. I'll keep them for now, but sure will look into buying a couple more 3008's for the rear if I can find them.

Strength:

Size, design and sound. Good highs and mids.

Weakness:

none

I recently added these to my Infinity Delta 60's and Delta center and I must say they sound great with my system. I had a pair of Mirage before and they just didn't seem to fill the space as well. These were actually one of the more expensive pieces in my setup because I waited so long to buy them that they were getting harder to get in black. I have had no problems with the grilles as some people have stated also if you are lacking bass add a good powered sub. I will never notice the lack of bass from the rears. I have an Infinity BU-150 15" powered sub and have more than enough bass.

i cant beleieve the negative reviews on here--these are NOT main speakers!--all the do is provide AMBIENCE--aka hall sound--reverb etc lololo the audio nuts never cease to amaze me--they THINK they know sound lolo most if not all wouldnt know true sound it it bit em in the you know where--these are AMBIENCE reproducing speakers --nothing more--a simple pair of radio shack 29.95 would do the same but im an infinity buff so i paid more--jist enjoy the move and dont sit there analyzing them--you shouldnt hear them anyway--just the ambient effect

Strength:

Sound diffusion

Weakness:

Just seems to have a tinny sound

I am somewhat dissappointed with this purchase. The sound diffusion is good; however, the sound is very lacking. They generally sound tinny or muffled to me. I don't know why, but, they tend to play some tracks better than others.

They do look good on the wall though. Not too many other speakers will be able to be placed on my wall and not be noticed.
