Bought these speakers 2nd hand two years ago to go with my NAD C370 and Marantz CD6000 OSE. My living room is not that large so any 'bigger' speaker would blow the walls down imo. Must say they are great value for the money and they sound pretty good. Not that much bass, except when I turn up the volume to appr. 35% and more (which is loud enough for the whole street to hear my music, so that doesn't happen often). Eventhough I think the NAD and Marantz need a bit 'warmer' sounding speaker so I might switch to another pair in the furure.

Strength:

Very good alround

Weakness:

Maybe a little yelly. it can be uncomfortable.

I do not think you can get a better speaker for the same price. It`s a good alround speaker, but what do you expect to the price of 400. The base is good, and all in all it`s a fine speaker.

Strength:

Alround. Classical music sounds good and when you increase the volume, my windows are trembling from the powerful bass.

Weakness:

Maybe the tweeter is to loud sometime but I haven't the optimal speaker placement yet.

I bought my 606 with a NAD C340 and I must say that I'm very pleased. I often enjoy classical music but I also listen to Metallica and Rammstein. In my opinion the bass is good and the tweeter is smooth and clear. Although, due to lack of power (NAD C340 only produce 2x50 watts) the speakers never have the opportunity to show what they can do. A good alround speaker. I use Denon DCD-1450 as CD-player. I need more power and maybe a coupla of Vincent SP-996 monoblocks (1x125 watt) could solve this problem.

Strength:

Great allrounder!

Weakness:

Needs biwireing

I've had my Dali 6006 for two years now, and I must say that I'm very pleased with their sound! I match them with an Electrocompaniet ECI3 amplifier, and an sony cdplayer. The clue with this speaker is to BIWIRE them. After one year with a cheap singlewire, I bought a MIT Terminator 4 biwire cable, and suddenly the soundstage became so much clearer!

Strength:

The sound is quite easy and warm. Clear treble, warm midrange

Weakness:

Low frequencies could be clearer

I've had the Dali 5005's for over a year now. I wanted floorstanders (althouhg my room is quite small) and spent quite a lot of time trying to find suitable speakers for my considerably small budget. I tested them at home against Mirage -speakers (can't remember the model, but the price was almost equal). The 5005's sound was much warmer and more to my liking. I was impressed how low they were able to go. Okay, I admit that the bass could be clearer, but still. I have been quite pleased with these speakers. But the old Finnish saying "The more you eat, the hungrier you get" is proving to be true: I'm already thinking of replacing my 5005's with better speakers... ;)

Strength:

clear sound and you can bi-wire them if you want.. it makes a difference! And they will fit anyone with a small wallet! Looks great! and all in all A GREAT Pair of speakers!!

Weakness:

Not enough Bass and that's it!

I call myself a wannabe-enthusiastic. Since my system is not a 10'000$ one. However, I like to think of myself as a young (18) enthusiast who strongly recommend this pair of speakers to anyone who want great sound to not such a great price (roughly $640). These speakers fulfilled my every wish - they play loud and clear and they play “quietly” and furthermore, they are the design is discreet. I have used these speakers for 4months now and the only minus I can think of is: the lack of Bass. Not that it is all tweeter! but when they are only equipped with 3 x 6,5” you don’t have the deep and “filling” Bass you have when you’re using speakers with 8” or 10”, logically enough. Not saying that these speakers won’t function without a sub. Because they will! If they are to function properly connect them to a subwoofer and then you’ll be fine… I’d recommend these speakers to anyone who do not have the money to go out and buy a pair of expensive speakers but still want great quality and for a guy like me who gets shushed on every time he turns up the volume they will fit you perfectly. However, when you have the chance of pumping up the volume – do not miss it!

Strength:

Sound quality above average for this price range ie AUD 1000. Value for money. Great Low/High balance. Build quality.

Weakness:

None.

The Dali Blue 6006 are excellent for home theater and music. These speaker take a very long time to Break-In so be patient, I never believed in this but the quality of sound did improve considerably with time (out of the box they sounded very boomy and undefined and nothing like the speakers I had listened to in the store) also had to Bi-wire to get the most out of these speakers as the connectors between the terminals are quite poor. The supplied spikes made no significant difference to the quality of sound. Once I got passed the initial hurdles I ended up with a pair of speakers that really work well with my Yamaha RX-V596, the bass is deep and well defined and the highs are nice and clear. Would recommend these to anyone shopping in this price range. Also for home theater a center speaker wouldn't go astray.

Strength:

- BASS/MID/HIGH are really in balance! - Nice finish (it''s not real wood but hey, what can you expect for this price) their neatly finished) - best quality for this price - LOOKS!

Weakness:

- when you don''t bi-wire them there is a really cheap connector between the low and high inputs. throw it away and put short loops of cable on it. Or even better: bi-wire them! Yes, that really matters!

Last summer (2001) I decided it was time to replace my Philips set. I owned that set for 5 years and after that time I considered that it was time for the bigger stuff. So I went out for a new amp+speakers. A quality CDplayer I couldn''t affort at that time. At the dealer there was a 2nd hand Harman/Kardon amp. Class A 100watt''s per channel. I listend to it with Klipsch speakers on it. Very good stuff but it was to expensive. I liked that sound: it could go loud, has good tweeters and nice phat bass. The salesman told me to give listen the Dali''s a listen. Wow, I was stunned. For this price? That sound? Great! After 45 of intensive listening I decided to buy them. They convinced me. I never buy something so impulsive. I''m still looking for a CD player to match the set, gonna be the brand new arcam diva CD62 I think. :) The 6006 have are for REAL great sound for a small price! I suggest that you give them a listen when you''re looking for fine speakers that suit smaller budgets.

Best buy! The bass is very tight and well defined, even with moderate amplifier-power (i have approximately 2x70 Watt). Tweeter and midrange are very clear and natural. These speakers fit well to a wide varity of music ("everything from Mozart to Metallica", my local dealer would say).
