I got this to replace a century c100 that didn't stand up well with my mirage 595i front speakers. This is a good match, and I couldn't be more pleased with the sound. I have always preferred the way PSB handles vocals, and this speaker is no exception. You can get these at great prices (paid $40.00 on eBay with free shipping). You would have to pay many tiimes this price to get anything remotely comparable to this speaker.

Strength:

Outstanding vocal clarity. Richness of voice.

Weakness:

none

My setup: Century 800i main, 200i center, no sub, and cheap HK side/rear speakers. Sony DAE90ESG receiver.

I will admit to being a relative neophyte and I have not owned other home theater, so I can't make a lot of comparisons. But for the money (I paid US $200), this center speaker is fantastic for home theater. Male or female voices are so crisp and rich and full. During dialogue scenes (with little or no background noice), all you hear is the voices, with no humming. I love this speaker.

I got this speaker with 600I and 300's for the back. I think this speaker is awesome. I don't have a subwoofer yet but this speaker can produce some serious bass. It is rated up to 150W!. For this price I don't think you can go wrong.

Purchased the 200ci as part of a complete PSB music/movie system consisting of 600i, subsonic 2ci, alpha mites and 200ci. Denon AVR2700 receiver, NAD 523 CD, Toshiba sd3109 DVD. Tara labs biwire 2+2 speaker cable, audioquest IC.
In on word...EXCELLENT! Pans are flawless. dynamics are very good. Male vocals never sound chesty. Female vocals never bright. there is no trace of siblance. Explosions sound like explosions, gun shots like gunshots, voices like voices. Some models from other companies have a manufactured sound to them. This speaker does everything that a $500+ center speaker can do but saves you some green. Don't pay more when you can get outstanding quality for less.

I have compared models from infinity, Polk, Paradigm, Klipsch, and energy. No contest. Valve VS. quality the PSB is a hands down winner. Listen for yourself.

I Purchased the 200ci as part of a complete front PSB speaker system, consisting of two 800i's and the 200ci center. I looked for quite a while for speakers that would be fairly inexpensive with a great sound, to replace my mixed bag of Dolby ProLogic equipment, when I started the slow and expensive upgrade to Dolby Digital. For value and sound the 200Ci center channel speaker, for $150 delivered, can't be beat. I was expecting a little more bass, but for the money, It's very good. I'm glad that I waited until the closeout of the now discontinued Century line. The entire PSB line is very good. Great speakers even at list prices. Try to get one before they're all gone.

Strength:

Clear dialogue; great on pans

Weakness:

Slightly overpowered by my older PSB 800's

An excellent sounding center speaker that's lived up to my expectations and has made DD and DTS a real experience! My only complaint is that it is sometimes overpowered by my PSB 800's which are slightly boomier than the newer (but now extinct) 800i line.

I have the Alpha's hooked up in behind and my system really Rocks! During the bass scenes from Godzilla, all of my speakers felt like they left the ground each time a thump came along...and I don't own a sub!!!

Love all of my PSB's but I think that I'll have to move to the C5 to properly match this center speaker with my older 800's...
