Price Paid:  $99.00 from Sound Plus Vancouver

Summary:
I was looking for a really nice sounding Center channel speaker. I came upon the Mirage FXR Center and was I in for a treat! I hooked it up and played my favoriite DVD, Return of the King in the Lord of the Ring series. I could hear the wispers of the Elvin people something I could not do on my pro-linear system. I now have Energy 4.5 as fronts and am I ever happy with this combo. Something to remember folks your center does not have to be the same brand just make sure the center is clear and expressive it helps if the timbre is really close but in just placing them you change the timbre. The drivers in mine are very much the same in quality and materials. Both made in Canada with very good materials. I highly recommend this Mirage FXR Center channel. Go for it ..it's worth it!

Strengths:
Excellent sound at any price!

Weaknesses:
None that I can find.

Review NaN of , from Kongsberg, Norway

Price Paid:  $240.00 from Glubi's

Summary:
Took me many auditions yo find this one. Compared it to many expensive models but always for clarity I came back to Mirage. Most centers seem to have an echeo or hollow sound. It's not big on bass but if your relying on base from your center, you have bigger problems. I run a high end system and this was perfect for me. Highly rexcomend you audition this one and save big bucks.

Strengths:
Clarity and very good dynamics. Sound sent throughout the room not just at it's position point.

Weaknesses:
Probably bass but I explained that above

Review NaN of , from Valley Forge, PA

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Bryn Mawr Stereo

Summary:
I was totally sick of the muddled dialogue coming out of
my JBL G-Center speaker, so I decided to upgrade. I bought
the FRX-Center without much research into other brands
because it is an "alleged" match to the FRX-7s I have for
my mains.

I find that the match is pretty accurate and the speaker
sounds very clear and is very neutral as well - much like
the FRX-7s. I would summarize the FRX series as a very
"unoffensive" speaker system - does everything well and
nothing sounds out of place - this is at the expense of
some dynamism. A worthy trade-off, might I add.

The FRX-C has a very unobtrusive profile, but about a
foot deep (like the FRX-7s). The sound is clear, the highs
never irritate and there is credible bass. It images
excellently right out of the box and I can visibly notice
the depth of the movie sounds from the center speaker.

It's a definite good buy - at least if you have FRX-7s.

Strengths:
Sound Sound Sound.

Review NaN of , from Texas

Summary:
This center was the missing piece in my home theatre system. It blends so well with the FRx-One mains and really creates a wonderful soundstage in the front.

Movies have come to life, as the dialog comes from exactly where it's supposed to. I've heard 60-70% of a movie soundtrack comes from the center channel, and what a difference this speaker makes.

I looked at matching the AVS-100 center with my FRx series mains -- DON'T do this! It sounded awful. The FRx-Center provides so much more sound, and it wasn't much more.

I got a good deal on it (with the FRx-One pair, the FRx-S8 sub, and the AVS-200 surrounds) at Ed Kellum & Son A/V in Dallas.

Strengths:
Really matches well with the FRx-One's.
Anchors the dialog on screen.

Weaknesses:
Almost larger than my (pathetic) 20" screen. :)
Doesn't come in white.
