Size is big...it isn't a Bose and that's a good for sound...

Really good sound would reccomend to a friend. Great for music on movies clear dialog. I'm really a music guy who still wants solid HT and the A4Cs size and configuration really have a commanding sound in 5 channel sound.

I totally agreed that centre speaker is not for reproduction of bass ambience. I use a pair of front A2, A4C, A1 for rears and paradigm Servo15 sub. Sony TA-E9000ES as pre/pro. Rotel 1090 power amp for fronts, Bryston 7B-ST for A4c and sony TA-N9000ES bridged for rears. I could not be more please with the performance of A4c. Dialogue is extremely clear, reproducing the chesty of male voice while able to clearly demostrate the sweetness of female voice. Subtlely producing the ambience of backgroung music. Front effect flow without jump, demonstrating the timbre matching to the A2. A must if you have Celestion A Series.

what are these manufactures thinking, a center channel needs to do more than dialog which the A4c does a great job on, but when the action gets pump'n this speaker runs home to momma, with it's ratted -3db of around 100hz you don't get much bass. I listen to multy channel music and this is where this speaker really fails. Maybe this is how Celestion see the A line, they all lacks bass.

I have a home theater system with a full complement of Celestion A-Series speakers (with the exception of subs). Up front are a pair of A2's with the A4c for center duty and a pair of A1's for rear surrounds. I use a 10 in. M&K and a 12 in. AR sub in this system. I couldn't be happier with the A's. I think the other reviewer (Craig) has a poinbt about bass when you compare any English made speaker with the bass-happy models most people here in the U.S. prefer. I personally look more for sonic accuracy than big time bass. The A Series really does a great job at the bottom end. Amp and cable can make a big difference in the bass you're able to reproduce and in the way of home theater bass is often used to the point of distortion to enhance a movie (the reason I have two subs). The A4c is a large center channel and will really fill a medium to large room at volume. Male voices are not chesty and dialoge is well defined, which is what I want out of a center channel. Let the subs take care of the bass. In a system with no subs the A4c may be a little shy on the subsonics and not for you. I think it's about $400 overpriced at $1400 but if you shop you can find bargans. It's very important to match at least your front three speakers in a home theater set-up and a pair of A's with the A4c really do the job for me! I rate the A4c sound at 5 stars but the steep price and lack of wood veneer options (grey finish only) take it down a notch. Give the A's an audition.
