Bottom Line: Cizek Model One, a great heredity from my Parents (They now have a Klipschorn System!)
If in good conditions it's very hard to find speakers that give a similar reality. Unfortunately it's very very difficult to find them because They were produced until 1985 or little more.
- strength: deep bass, clear mid and high, linearity of frequency response, easy to drive
- weakness: fragile tweeter (needs a fuse)
Compared with my second system where a pair of Proac Studio 140 are driven by a Jungson DA 200IA (class A), the Cizek provide a superior sound clarity, bass and dynamics, although perhaps the soundstage is more real with the Proac.

Bottom Line: Kind of a clicke speaker. Basically a box with a Thiel tweeter and a modified generic woofer. They were ok for certain types of listening but really a slow obsolete speaker now. Double Advents were considerably better in their day. I had both. I recently ran across some grill emblems which caused me to see what was currently being said. The main problem with the speaker and the reason that I gave mine away was that the woofers were modified with glued on dampners and can't be easily repaired or replaced without a lot of fussing. Too big for what they are today, not really reproducing as well as any number of small studio monitors.

Bottom Line: Clarity, Clarity, Clarity!!!
This is the best word that describes these amazing "old" speakers. i listened them for the first time at Federico's house (a friend of mine) who bought the Cizek from an audiophile in Macerata (Italy). I 've got a pair of ProAc Tablette at home but the comparison is inadmissable.

Bottom Line: Roy Cizek was blind. Like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and many others great artists. He dedicated his life to build great value loudspeakers for audiophiles and High End systems. His Company, CIZEK AUDIO SYSTEM sold many speakers in Italy in the end of the '70 and at the beginning of the '80. The most famous speaker was Model One, although the following "Model 2", "Model 3", Subwoofer MG 27, KA1, KA20 SW and the incredible "Sound Window" (the first wall loudspeakers ever made), gained also notoriety due to their original projects.
The most important feature of the Models 1-3 were certainly the FLAT impedance curve obtained with a particular cross-over and the Q switch for the woofer which allowed a different damping of the bass frequences.
The FLAT impedance was probably the secret of their incredibly neutral sound with no colouration due to the easier work the amplifier had to do to pilot these louspeakers systems.
CIZEK Model One has been considered for many years one of the best 2-way system ever produced
