Summary:
the B1600's are great speakers, very powerful, they have good dynamics & they extremely detailed. though m&k are well-known for their hometheatre speakers these small "giants" are extremely good in all kinds of music music (rock, jazz, elect...etc). the description of these spekers as full range satellite speakers is insulting (it should be full range speakers only).
the backfire port can be easily removed or inserted... removing the plugs increases the bass output of the speakers but it's recommended to use a subwoofer for a greater bass.

Strengths:
very powerful.
dynamics.
detailes.
great value for the money

Weaknesses:
appearance is not the strong side of m&k speakers.
the inputs at the rear are plastic.
good bass but not enough.
