Strength:
Build Quality, Performance, Cost
Weakness:
In this price range, little, if any. Considerably more money will probably buy more soundstage and detail, but until I can afford to spend $50,000 on new equipment, what''s the point? I use the whole Vampire line to connect my system, S-Video, Digital Coax,Component Video, Subwoofer Pre-In/Out. I use the CCC-II to connect the sub from the pre-out on the receiver and the SCII''s back in. My system is above average: Marantz SR-19, Sony DVP-7700,Sony Dolby Digital Sat Receiver, Tannoy Mx4''s, 2''s and a MxC. In a cableland of diminishing returns, Vampire Wire is an island of value and performance. The cables are well built (just examine the RCA connections)and the staff at Sound Connections (Stuart, Jessica and Neil) are terrific! If you are confused about what cables to buy and want to do comparisons, start w/ Vampire and compare other brands to them (Monster Cable will immediately dissappoint you). You''ll probably end up keeping the Vampire Wire. Similar Products Used: Monster, Stinger, Transparent |

I just wired up my new home and system with Vampire Wire, including this model. I got their S-Video, Optical, and video and coax digital cables in the setup. All of them have worked great. I also have their silver-copper speaker wire. They sound great with more openness and detail than anything else I have used. The video cables are sharp and clear. The service by this company was great, they were helpful and fast with their service. For the price I paid for these, you cant beat it. A great alternative to Monster Cable and others that you find in mass market low price cables. Value is a 5, over $300 dollars worth of cables for less than half that. Overall, well there is better if I wanna pay more. |

Strength:
Smooth, musical, deep bass, the best hardware in the industry
Weakness:
Some stiffness of the cables AI (cast copper Technology) Sound Connections makes and distibutes many fine products, my favorites are the cast copper series using the best RCA's in the industry (800C's), heavy machined solid copper with gold plating and teflon dialectric. The overall sound is smooth, detailed, deep bass and non-tiring. The interconnects are the AI-2 and speaker wiring is the ST-2,3 series, various pricing, worth the addition to any system. We have worked with Sound Conecctions for years and they offer the best hardware and wiring options anywhere period. They have been in business several years longer than many of the newcomers. Stuart Marcus pioneered many of the products that many others now offer. Sound Connections / Vampire products, service and products for a lifetime, thank you Stuart!!! I've heard and read alot about cables and interconnects. So much so that I've developed a strong interest in these items. Many of us start out by using the interconnects that come with the stereo equipment that we buy. Most of us never question the quality of such interconnects and cheerfully go through life oblivious to the fact that all interconnects are not created equal (for some are more equal than others). Now, I'm on a budget as stereo is one among many things of which I am enthusiastic. After all there are films to see, books to read, bicycling to do, travel, photography, dogs to raise, children to plan for, and a whole host of other things which occupy my time and dollars. Thus, I ain't got much scratch to spend on cables and interconnects. But I know that the cheapie interconnects that came with my stereo gear suck royally to put it nicely. |
